If the most genomic data were generated from people of European descent, we limit our ability to move genomic medicine into all of the world’s populations. That is why there are efforts around the world to capture much more diverse genomic data from the world’s populations.

We developed a novel method for estimating microbial biomass from 16S read counts extending previous work on #lowbiomass #microbiome samples. This new method is now a @qiime2 plugin "katharoseq".
