What you said @Clayd28 . I like Nashville, but folks need to be informed as to why growth and development have occurred among the cities in the state of Tennessee over the last 20 years.
Clay@Clayd28

I lived in Nashville prior to what it is now working at the State Capitol. Nashville is what it is because they withhold funding from West TN. Memphis was the largest city in the state out pacing Nashville, Murfreesboro Chattanooga, Knoxville. That was a problem

i hope mike has a good word with his friend lebron and let him knows he’s wrong for saying what he said. mike miller played for seven teams (including orlando, miami, and denver), zach randolph played for five (including new york and los angeles), tony allen played for three (including boston), and tayshaun prince played for four (including boston)… and somehow, they all chose to live where after retiring? joakim noah said he loved being here, matt barnes said he loved being here, vince carter said he loved being here… multiple guys who played in countless of the “big cities” and markets who, as millionaires, chose this city as their home… not LA, not miami, not orlando, not boston… sure as hell not nashville… MEMPHIS. Mike Miller is in the process of opening a basketball gym development in Eads, TN outside Memphis — yet another investment he’s made in the city. (ig: @ letitflybarn)

@DPinkston14 @MikeHerndonSk1 Oh so is the point of your work trip to work or eat dinner at a restaurant? It’s to work. And if you’re demanding your company stops doing business in a city because it’s not entertaining enough for you then you’d be an entitled brat. Just like LeBron.

Would love to know what LeBron would do in Nashville on a random Thursday. He’s surely not going out on Broadway or dealing with obnoxious college kids in Midtown, so do we think he’s an East Nashville hipster? 12 South hipster? My guess? Arrington Vineyards.
Legion Hoops@LegionHoops

LeBron James on playing the Grizzlies: “I’m f***ing 41 years of age. You think I want to do sh** in Memphis on a random Thursday? I’m not the first guy in the NBA to talk about this. You guys got to move the team… go over to Nashville already.” (via @leaguealerts)

@DPinkston14 @MikeHerndonSk1 Isn’t his job to play basketball. Isn’t that what he’s supposed to be doing in any city he’s in? Pampered entitled and arrogant is how this comes off.

NBA players don't have a lot of complaints about heavily Black locations like: Atlanta New Orleans Chicago Detroit D,C. Houston Philly Brooklyn or even Milwaukee... It's Memphis. This is not rich Black athletes being anti-Black. A more nuanced discussion is needed here.

Gilbert Arenas agrees with LeBron on Memphis and says if NBA players could pick where they was drafted from, the players that was born in Memphis wouldn’t pick Memphis: “This is just to everybody in Memphis that’s upset and say you forget where you came from. NO, WE KNOW WHERE WE CAME FROM AND WE KNOW WHERE WE WANT TO GO. YOU THINK THIS is Memphis and another bunch of cities? You think basketball players are training every day to get out the hood to go to WHAT CITIES? WHO’S OUR IDOLS? ARE YOU THINKING HOW A basketball player think? Who’s our idols? Who are we growing up wanting to be in life? MICHAEL JORDAN, big city. Kobe Bryant, big city. Bird, Magic, big city. SO, EVERY NBA PLAYER COMING TO THE DRAFT, YOU WANT TO be in the big city. Because we know the big city gets the big promotion, gets the bigger contract, get the big shoe contract. That is what happens. Unfortunately, there’s other cities in between that has a chance to pick us. YES WE’RE EXCITED THAT WE GOT DRAFTED IN the NBA and whatever city takes a chance on us, obviously we’re going to hold it down.” (Via @NoChillGilZero)

Stephen A Smith GOES OFF on LeBron James about his comments on Memphis and the Grizzlies with a “bunch of white boys around him” 😳👀 “It’s a bunch of white dudes on a golf course knowing the camera rolling and videoing you without any regard for what kinda effect that would have on the Black populace.”

@DPinkston14 @Real_JPIII @MLVNPRDY Memphis isn’t his vibe, but there are scores of athletes and celebrities that have selected to have a home in Memphis or one of its suburbs. Steve Harvey’s wife had some trees cut down that were obstructing her view of the river.

Y’all want us to cut slack for visiting NBA millionaires who complain about staying in a Hyatt but think that guys like TA, ZBo, Rudy, Mike, Marc and the entire Gasol family’s voice shouldn’t carry more weight when discussing living in Memphis? With NBA pedigree? Oh ok
