I am devastated and heart broken over the loss of Quincy Jones. He changed music and with that he changed the world. He inducted Public Enemy into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He is already greatly missed. And he is even more loved. My deepest sympathies to his family. 🙏🏾

Folklore then. Taylor Swift's 8th album is brilliant. That's it. I don't have much else to add. It stands up to almost anything I've heard this century yet could come from 30, 40, 50 years ago. I'm not going to tell you all "you must hear this". I'm just so glad I found it.

@WhenIsBirths In 1969 I was watching Jazz 625 with Ronnie Scott on BBC2, which one week featured the Mike Westbrook Orchestra (with John Surman) performing Metropolis about 18 months before it was recorded. Maybe I was just a weird five-year-old...

@DPunctum Actually, while we're on, could you have a listen to a thing? Google "Wippen Tree" and you get a youtube. I thought I'd give the AI music generator a go, took 30 mins from "no idea how" to completion. My jaw was dropped, and .. I dunno. Not been near it since.

This morning on Radio 3 they're wondering if we'll be dancing around the bonfire tonight. I've never seen anybody do this in my life, what kind of world do they think we inhabit, are they on drugs?
