Last night we covered the harassment of witnesses and many others in the Karen Read/Aidan Kearney cases. We missed one of the most important clips—here it is. This is the definition of witness intimidation. There is no defense in the world for it. Julie Nagel’s only “crime” was going to her friend’s house to celebrate his birthday—then finding herself targeted in a case where everyone becomes an enemy who must be destroyed.

Interesting statement, especially from someone who as an AUSA signed off on releasing information during an active state murder prosecution. Hard to square “rooting out corruption” when during a federal investigation as an AUSA you used a blog as a demonstrative in a federal grand jury and that same blogger was actively pushing the defense narrative while intimidating and harassing witnesses being called to testify. Add in a federal grand juror who leaked information receiving a notably lenient outcome, and it raises even more questions. Even more so when that prosecution was handled by Anne Paruti who had personal ties to the defendant. If that’s the standard, people are right to question whether your run for DA is about accountability or your selective application of it.

This chain of events is why we needed the sidebars from the Karen Read trials. 👩‍🍳💋 Incorrect information gets spewed out for years (to which people latch on to).. but low and behold it was wrong the entire time. The original claim: "Karen Read searched for a DUI attorney when she got home after leaving 34 Fairview." The factual timeline: 🔹️Trooper Michael Proctor calls Karen Read at 1:19pm 🔹️Karen Read google searches for a DUI attorney at 1:24pm Her google search was a result from Proctor calling her and letting her know he was on his way for an interview (to which she willingly gave up her location for). The search was not in the early hours of 1/29/22 like claimed. It was not because she had a "consciousness of guilt" over the theory that the Commonwealth produced. It was because she knew she was drinking and driving, period. Which is exactly what she was convicted for. Guess who else was drinking and driving that night? 🤔
