Using specialized sutures at the gastroesophageal junction, GERDx recreates the anti-reflux valve mechanism in a way comparable to surgery, but with significantly less invasiveness. In this case, the patient suffered from long-standing, medication-refractory GERD with objective evidence of severe acid reflux on pH monitoring and an elevated DeMeester score. Following the procedure, the patient experienced significant symptom improvement and a rapid return to daily activities.
