An important meeting was held today in @UKParliament to hear about the dangers of landfill sights and the devastating consequences they bring to the health of local people, wildlife and our overall environment. The site may not be located in my Romford constituency, but Launders Lane in Rainham is a prime example of where things have gone so badly wrong. I went to the 'summit' today in order to demonstrate my support for those from Rainham campaigning to get something done about the scandal of Launders Lane @Ruthyphro and @HaveringDaily As a Havering MP, I feel that Launders Lane is a stain on our borough and action to clear this site and make it safe for our local community is absolutely vital @LBofHavering @MayorofLondon but was disappointed and dismayed that @Margaret4DR - who is the local MP for Rainham - failed to appear! However, I am willing to put aside party politics to form a united front with others to get this shameful situation sorted out once and for all, if they will work with me to fight for the best interests of Havering? #ProtectOurEnviorment #KeepHaveringTownAndCountryBorough 🌲
