Six years ago, a young maker's life changed overnight. A wheelchair became part of his daily life, and with it came a question that wouldn't leave him: What if a wheelchair could truly understand the person using it? That question became the beginning of a brain-controlled wheelchair. Here's how it works: A BCI headset captures the user's brain activity and identifies movement intentions. Commands are sent to RDK X5 via Bluetooth. The RDK X5 processes the signals in real time and wirelessly controls the wheelchair. Powered by RDK X5, the system delivers real-time AI computing, signal processing, and multi-camera perception with room for future capabilities. Then came the moment that made it all worthwhile—the wheelchair moved, guided only by the user's intention. This project isn't just about AI or robotics. It's about using technology to restore independence, improve everyday life, and inspire more developers to build solutions that truly matter.
