@blockwonkel I admittedly have only tried it via Bluetooth so far but haven't had any double input issues. Would be interesting if you'd give that a try and see if it's purely a puck-connection issue?

The Steam Controller's on-screen keyboard still lags like hell and does double inputs when docked on the puck regardless of what I do, though.

Mine came pre-marked, but it's fine.
Also after having a Steam Deck for years, I finally realized that the default trackpad scroll wheel mode doesn't suck... It's just that you have to do a circular steering motion rather than a vertical swipe.
