We commend Supervisor Dean Preston for voting against the proposed budget at the Board of Supervisors. The budget massively increases police funding, doesn’t fund affordable housing, and cuts key services. This is a failed approach that only exacerbates underlying issues. (1/5)

This was Palestine’s first ever flag bearer at the Olympics, Majed Abu Maraheel, in Atlanta ‘96. Abu Maraheel was killed in Gaza last month. Unable to receive adequate care at Gaza’s destroyed hospitals, he died of kidney failure. These killings don’t figure in the death toll.

After 5 days of not hearing from Hanin, I finally received a voice message from her that internet connection had been lost the entire time. She is displaced, surviving inhumane conditions and illness, and could not connect to the outside world.
