I have a more glass full look These teams that have taken the next step don’t have mega stars. They have young guys. They built and the teams are playing well. Some really good players. Like cbj and buffalo 5 players isn’t a lot. They need a 4C, that’s easy. They need a 3rd pairing Dman.. not difficult They need a 3rd liner- also not difficult. They have plenty of cap space to make moves. Plenty of assets to make trades They have a lot of under rated young players they can trade or promote We already have a top Dman, top goalie and some good players to build with We also have a good coach So I think if you add the 4-5 players to the guys having success it’ll boost the team tremendously.

@DSAlarm @SnarkMessier 4-5 players is a huge hill to climb. Not to mention they still lack top tier talent. Their best players are second liners on a good team. Very unlikely they take any sort of steps forward. The Rangers have shown the only thing that unlocks their potential is subtraction.

The New York Rangers in March: • With J.T. Miller: 1-3-1, Outscored 23-15. • Without J.T. Miller: 4-1-0, Outscored Teams 25-13. Numbers don’t lie. #NYR

There’s not many stars out there to be had But there is a lot of talent It’s possible they can retool pretty quickly. Between the trades out and the ability to make trades to add. There’s a lot of RFA’s out there. I mean a lot of more than usual. And teams may not want to keep them all Like cbj has way too many forwards. Even with marchment Jenner and coyle as UFAs. They might still wanna move an rfa out. We lose games yea. But we don’t look totally lost. We look about 4-5 players shy of being a unit Def need a 4C anchor. But they can get the rest via trade for sure That might give new life to Miller and the other vets

@DSAlarm @SnarkMessier He’s likely gonna have to be assuming they’re still trading Trocheck in the offseason. I just don’t see it, he looks done mentally and physically. A “retooling” team is not the right place for him.

@Jake_Dunn0 @SnarkMessier That sounds more like an injury plagued guy rn I mean Kreider looked like that last year. Then he got healthy in Anaheim and looks a lot better. I doubt killer will be a 90 point guy again But ..maybe if the healthy.. I mean really healthy. He can be a solid enough 2c or winger

@DSAlarm @SnarkMessier I think it’s a combination but he’s pretty cooked he can’t even complete a 5 ft pass.

@JonFromMaspeth @BartAcocella1 1) he’s not Juan Soto. Nobody is. 2) we don’t need him up in march 3) he’s a kid, he needs more reps in the minors where the competition is actually trying. 4) he needs to go to aaa and face those batters, while also being exposed to the AB’s system before he can come up

He’s been doing this. Obviously not a ton on the power place since he didn’t have a ton of power playtime. But he’s been going for and trying for the reflections. Go back to last season and the year before and you’ll see him try and get more often than others not named Chris kreider Now on the power-play more often, he’s trying it almost every time and it seems to be his spot now.

This to me has really been the most noticeable difference as of late. I can’t remember Lafreniere scoring many deflection goals prior to the last 3 weeks and I can’t count at least 4 of them since returning from the break. #NYR

@Bestofsopranos But she’s also a Cee U Next Tuesday to her husband all the time. And the second they split up she starts dressing just like the women she looks down on to try and get men’s attention.

@Bigmntskier1 @PhilKocher I guess. But he really dragged us down those last two years Then.. of course.. as a fourth line center for Chicago he wins the cup the very next year. Total bologna

It's incredible how much JT Miller reflects late-career Chris Drury. Effectively a fourth-line center making first-line money while routinely injured. #NYR

#NYR warmup lines vs. #CBJ: Perreault-Zibanejad-Lafrenière Sheary-Miller-Kartye Cuylle-Trocheck-Raddysh Brodzinski-Edström-Chmelař Gavrikov-Fox Robertson-Schneider Mackey-Borgen Shesterkin Quick

The best free agent center will be.. Boone Jenner The rest are RFA’s. And it’s doubtful they get moved Some team(s) are going to get bounced in the playoff because of top center depth. And they’re going to look dumb keeping a mid 20’s first and college prospect at the deadline I’m sure there will be many teams in on Vinny Many..

Working on a pretty big research project about stars in the NHL I already have McDavid, Crosby, MacKinnon, Kucherov and Matthews to establish a baseline If I asked you: who’s the most clutch player in the league, who would you mention?
