Our survival depends on environmental justice. When we talk about environmental justice, we’re talking about clean air in neighborhoods. If we do right by the communities burdened by pollution, we all benefit. Justice isn’t a side issue. It’s the strategy for a livable future.

Clean air and water are human rights we all deserve. Yet some communities consistently breathe toxic air and have water that is unsafe to drink. These are examples of Environmental injustice. That’s why we lift our voices to fight. #EnvironmentalJustice #Community

She served as the first co-chair of the White House Environmental Justice Advisory Council and was the first female chair of the National Environmental Justice Advisory Council to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in 2021.

Through NavigateNOLA, we provide direct support, training, & professional development to school-based mental health workers. NavigateNOLA also has initiatives that promote health & wellness for African-American women and youth leadership development for African-American Girls.

Since the beginning of DSCEJ, standing with communities impacted by climate change has been one of our central priorities. Our mission comes to life by anchoring in the wisdom of communities. We have two programs central to building the capacity of community organizations.
