Mayors are expected to solve some of the toughest problems we face. That takes bold leadership, talented teams, and a willingness to try new ideas. It was great to meet the tenth class of the @bhcityleaders, bringing together mayors from 46 cities in 15 countries. They're bringing fresh thinking and a determination to make their communities stronger.

For the past decade, I've had the opportunity to share lessons from my 12 years in New York City Hall with hundreds of mayors through @BHcityleaders. This is our 10th class, and this month, 46 mayors from 15 countries will come together to begin learning from one another and working with Bloomberg @CenterforCities at @Harvard faculty & policy experts to help them better tackle the challenges their residents care about most.

American taxpayers are spending $1 trillion a year to pay interest on our debt. And we're just one example of skyrocketing government debt levels that pose a threat to global stability. By partnering with past COP Presidencies over the years, @bloombergdotorg has helped bring ambitious goals, real solutions, and cross-sector collaboration to the annual United Nations climate negotiations. With air quality data from @breathecities, mayors around the world have reduced pollution near schools, expanded clean transit, cut building emissions, and taken other steps that are improving the health of millions of people. Today at #LCAW2026, @bloombergdotorg announced a new $45 million investment in Breathe Cities to build on that progress and welcomed Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and Madrid, Spain to the network.

I was honored to join @antonioguterres at #LCAW2026 today for one of the final major climate addresses of his term as @UN Secretary-General. Throughout his tenure, he has brought cities, states, businesses, and civil society into the climate conversation and helped turn ambition into action. Much of the progress we've made over the past decade would not have been possible without his leadership.
