@BravoKilo6464 That’s a trophy of war. Virginia lost it and has no entitlement to it. It’s Minnesota’s.
In the Bundestag in Germany, graffiti from invading Soviet soldiers is kept as a reminder of the consequences of bad government. Let the captured colours be that reminder to Virginia.

@YoureaDickSean @Rainmaker1973 I’ve no desire to discuss climate change reversal with someone who in their opening question uses the phrase “in your perfect world”. You’re looking for an internet fight with a faceless stranger, not a rational debate. It would be pointless and irritating to both of us.

Why 536CE was ‘the worst year to be alive’. A mysterious fog plunged Europe, the Middle East & parts of Asia into darkness, day and night—for 18 months. Now we know that a cataclysmic volcanic eruption in Iceland spewed ash across the Northern Hemisphere ow.ly/iyUG30mL5bC

@LevSzeps @incunabula My humble major in literature and classics was the springboard to a law degree, and from there to a masters in law. Tertiary education is not a trade school. It is a place to learn how to learn.

@incunabula My humble major in English literature gave me work (good work) for life, plus a lot of other benefits

"The decline of English as a subject for study at university seems to me a healthy development. Literature is lovely stuff but it’s not a way to earn your bread."

@ByzantineGener9 @HseyinDural13 @culturaltutor Actually that’s not right at all. There are very many historical sources describing the significant presence of Viking mercenaries in the region, backed up by genetic research: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Viking_ex…

@GailSimone Straight man (lawyer and college professor) with four kids here. To my three girls: this peacemaker / diplomat / diviner of truth is a character to aspire to. To my 9 year old son: this peacemaker / diplomat / diviner of truth is a character to aspire to. Wonder Woman, of course.

‼️🇦🇺 In #Australia the police stopped a Russian Z-patriot because of his noisy behavior on the road on May 9 - inadequate fan of Putin, taking advantage of the fact that the police do not understand Russian, rudely insulting the police officers.
"Stinky fucking cops, faggots," a man said to police officers in Russian.
The documents turned out to be all right and the man was politely released by the police. In response, the man politely answered the police in English and then continued to insult them in Russian.
We know that people from Australia also subscribe to us. We ask you to tag the police accounts and Australian media in the comments to bring this Russian scum to justice for insulting police officers and for propaganda of Putin's aggression.

@Mylovanov What a pretty city. I’ll have to visit one day.
English

@saltyasvegemite @culturaltutor It is. It’s a great walk for people watching. Very crowded most days.
(Kyoto has a much smaller one parallel to the historic Potoncho alley but I can’t remember what that mall is called….)

@GailSimone If a customer is a dick in Australia, then the customer can expect that someone will spit in their food or drinks. As in, just expect it.
You still see dick customers, but you know they’ll be eating or drinking the spit of the people who just served them.

Re-tweeting something from work Twitter account. @sxbond and @shadychars

There are those who spend a lot of time editing (as I do) and never gave thought to the respective meanings of editorial notation. So, here you go: * NB = “nota bene” (Latin for “note well”). * Sic = Latin for “so”, or “thus”. (This is used to indicate…lnkd.in/guEHk7mh

@ChrisO_wiki It’s amazing how many people here didn’t read as far as tweet #3, let alone all the way to #9.
