The Diamond Age teaches you one thing very concretely: educating and cultivating a person to become a sovereign individual doesn't actually scale well. sure, you might need it for a good baseline so that society can be educated at all. but to be extraordinary and raise the ceiling, a parent's loving attention, teaching, and modeling is irreplaceable. truly good parents are irreplaceable in their work.

just had an Anton Ego moment at a restaurant called Hestia- the best restaurant I’ve been to in downtown Austin. I was so impressed with the sharp flavors and dedication of the staff and ambience, that I asked to speak with the chef and chat about the way food is made. I even received a gift from the chef- two mesquite buns. it totally felt like being in the Ratatouille movie. everyone must to go to Hestia!

then the big kids opened their first MacBook Air as a reward and key item for the next quest line.

Hello people of X! I’m looking for engineering work in the LA area.
Most of my work is within biomedical engineering working within cardiology (stents and pacemakers). Everything from R&D testing to designing new SOPs and material design for pre FDA work on the quality side.
I’ve been exposed to over 30+ clinical trials, built cooling prosthetics, and designed sodium battery chemistry in my basement.
Staying in med would be great but I’m open to new opportunities! Please reach out if you’re working on pushing the limits.
