Tobacco Road
Mike Strantz 1998
The bold layout and massive scale at Tobacco Road is matched by very few courses around the world. While the minimalist wave of golf course architecture lately strays away from moving dirt, Strantz leaned into it. Massive mounds, blind shots, and important risk/reward opportunities are present throughout the course. The extremely wide fairways give advantages to those who find the correct portion of the fairway, giving the player a better angle or view of the green. The greens at Tobacco Road are the best I’ve seen from Strantz. The greens are larger than typical Strantz courses while still having the massive undulations and quirky shapes that give a very unique look.
Tobacco Road has a rec score of 7.8. Share and rank your favorite courses with friends easier than ever with GOLFR.
No filming rehabbing players, but saw Tucker Kraft doing the following with a sleeve on his right leg:
• Resistance band around legs
• Pulling weighted sled by strap around waist
• High knees jogging
• Lateral chopping of feet, slides
• Suck it crotch chop handshake with Bo Melton
@DT_Gavin It’s not a difficulty thing as much as it is unplayable. No place in the fairways to find a dry spot, and you’re not going to drop in the rough. Nobody should be hitting out of a puddle
