My 2 favorite memories from inside that building: watching the Bryce Drew/Valpo miracle in '98, and the '89 Olympic Festival gold medal basketball game.

Connor Dow narrowly misses a Mabee miracle, as his 30-plus footer bounces off the rim at the buzzer. TU hangs on to beat ORU 88-87. Riley's FT with a second left wins it. Dow had a career high 22 for the Eagles. Miles Barnstable and David Green led TU with 21 points each.

My church was packed with young people today. Our pastor gave a beautiful sermon on martyrdom and how the brutal murder of Stephen led to the greatest expansion of Christianity in history. This verse man: “Through his faith, though he died, he still speaks!” Hebrews 11:4 Wow.

Fran’s Plan to Fix NCAA Eligibility (I’m perfectly aware that this makes too much sense to implement.)   Five full years of eligibility at all NCAA levels in a five-year window—PERIOD.   One one-time transfer exception and the second transfer requires a sit-out season. The exception to the one-time exception would be if the head coach of the school leaves for another job or is fired, the athlete receives immediate eligibility at next school.   Junior college transfer who receive a two-year degree retain four years of NCAA eligibility but not five. This insures that they are closer to the degree requirements at their Division 1 school.   Players who arrive from having played international basketball at the professional level and are over the age of eighteen, forfeit one year of their five years of eligibility for every year they played in a professional league.
