🚨 OFFICIAL: FC Barcelona complaint to UEFA.
“Barcelona has submitted a complaint to UEFA regarding the refereeing performance in the Champions League quarter-final tie played against Atlético Madrid.
The club considers that, across both legs of the tie, several refereeing decisions were made that did not comply with the Laws of the Game, resulting from an incorrect application of the regulations and a lack of appropriate intervention by the VAR system in incidents of clear significance.
According to FC Barcelona, the accumulation of these errors had a direct impact on the course of the matches and on the final outcome of the tie, causing significant sporting and financial harm to the club.
Through this complaint, the Club reiterates the requests previously made to UEFA and, at the same time, offers to collaborate with the organisation with the aim of improving the refereeing system to ensure a more rigorous, fair and transparent application of the Laws of the Game”.

The more you think about last summer’s transfer window, the more it has killed Newcastle’s season - and will also hamstring them in future windows.
£222m worth of talent signed last summer (4 players) on the bench today, only getting a handful of minutes between them.
If even two of them had been an immediate success (like Isak, Bruno G, Trippier, Burn etc were) #NUFC would be in a much stronger position and IMO in European places.
In addition to the psychological problems when they go in front (25 point dropped from winning positions), it feels like there’s a real issue with staleness in the team.
You can get away with one big-money signing not working out…but not 4 in one window.
(NB. I think Ramsey is a player btw, but he’s not played enough due to injury).

💰 Eddie Howe when asked why £124m strikeforce Nick Woltemade & Yoane Wissa again started on the bench 🗣️ "I don't pick the team based on transfer fees. I have to pick the team based on what I see. I thought Will Osula was training well and deserved to start. I thought he played well. He took his goal well. He's got the physical attributes, the determination to do really well."

Newcastle United have been warned not to spend big money on the potential transfer of Chelsea misfit Nicolas Jackson this summer, according to Mick Brown of Football Insider.
As well as being expensive, Brown says he’s also heard that Jackson doesn’t have the best attitude, as well as not being consistent enough, so it certainly seems like one to avoid!!!

Since Manchester City saw Antoine Semenyo’s goal ruled out following a six-minute VAR check in the Carabao Cup semi-final against Newcastle on January 10, Pep Guardiola has been on something of a rampage.
He has pulled up several examples of poor decisions that have gone against his side — including one from nine years ago.
The Manchester City manager has long had grievances with officials, but in recent weeks he has started to imply that there is an agenda against his club.
Is he just trying to build a siege mentality? Or has he gone too far?

🚨 Tino Livramento has been ruled out for EIGHT WEEKS with a hamstring injury.
👨🏻⚕️ The defender had a scan yesterday and Newcastle’s worst fears were discovered, meaning he could miss up to 15 games.
🏴 🇨🇭 Livramento joins Fabian Schär on the sidelines, who is out for around 3 months himself.
💰 Newcastle are weighing up whether to dip into the transfer market for a defender, and there is a decent chance.
