Met with Minister of Culture Ghassan Salamé together with Ambassador Ramez Demashkieh/LPDC to discuss the completion of Nahr El Bared camp reconstruction while ensuring the protection of national heritage and important archaeological sites.

Presented to partners the findings of the Nahr El Bared camp socio-economic value chain analysis with Dr. Sami Nader of USJ. The study identified investment opportunities to create shared economic benefits for youth and women in the camp and surrounding municipalities.

Today we briefed UNSG António Guterres on the humanitarian response to large-scale displacement at the launch of the $308.3M UN Flash Appeal for 🇱🇧. Highlighted @UNRWA’s inclusive support to displaced communities—helping uphold solidarity in times of tension.

A newborn arrived in one of @UNRWA’s shelters — their first home. A small life beginning in the most difficult of circumstances. A reminder that even in displacement, life continues and must be protected.

📍 At @UNRWA’s shelter in Nahr El Bared camp, #PalestineRefugees & Syrians displaced from southern towns & Beirut’s Dahyeh now share the same space — different stories, but the same search for safety. UNRWA continues to provide shelter & support.

At an @UNRWA emergency shelter, #PalestineRefugees from Nahr El Bared Camp brought food for Ramadan iftar — a moving gesture of solidarity with displaced families. Even in hardship, communities come together to care for one another.

As displaced continue to arrive, @UNRWA teams are accommodating all — including children, the elderly, women & persons with disabilities. Registration is ongoing, while younger children begin adjusting to their new surroundings, keeping themselves busy despite the uncertainty.

Today, @UNRWA teams distributed food to displaced families in our emergency shelters while also creating job opportunities for #PalestineRefugee youth, who are supporting the response and helping deliver assistance to those in need.
