In #Gaza, UNRWA screened nearly 5,000 children at its health centres and medical points between 16 & 30 June and identified 203 cases of malnutrition.  Despite the ongoing displacement and immense pressure on basic services, UNRWA health teams continue to provide lifesaving care to those most in need.  #UNRWAworks

.@UNMAS estimates that 5-10% of weapons fired into Gaza have failed to detonate.  For children growing up amid destruction, explosive remnants of war pose a constant, hidden threat.  With training from UNMAS, UNRWA teams are helping children recognise the dangers, stay safe, and report potential hazards.  #UNRWAworks

Success Story In #Syria, more than 93% of graduates from UNRWA’s Technical and Vocational Education and Training Programme are employed within one year of graduation. Bader, a 22-year-old #PalestineRefugee living in Yarmouk Camp, is one of them. After graduating from Mechatronics Engineering last year, he is now helping train the next generation of robotics students. #UNRWAworks

Our latest on the situation in 📍#Gaza and the occupied #WestBank, including East Jerusalem: 🔹UNRWA distributed around 79 million litres of domestic and drinking water across #Gaza, reaching over 860,000 displaced people daily between 16 and 30 June. 🔹The latest Water and Sanitation Cluster monitoring in Gaza, conducted in June, indicate a continued deterioration in water security, with 84% of assessed households experiencing moderate-to-high water insecurity. 🔹Settler violence continued unabated across the #WestBank, including an attack on the #Palestine Refugee Bedouin community of Umm al Kheir in the South Hebron Hills which left several Palestinians injured. .@UNRWA has successfully concluded the 2025/26 school year in Lebanon. Final exams were completed across all schools, with strong participation despite challenges. Average participation was 97% for in person classes and 89% where education was moved to online due to the conflict.

At the UNRWA Pledging Conference, Commissioner-General a.i. Christian Saunders emphasised that the Agency must evolve to address new challenges. Reform means adapting to new realities to ensure assistance reaches those who need it most through modernised ways of working: streamlined processes, data informed decision making, and strengthened accountability in delivering maximum value for every contribution received. Until a lasting solution is secured, enhanced opportunities for Palestine Refugees provide much needed positive prospects for youth and the region as a whole. UNRWA Commissioner-General a.i. @CFSaundersUN welcomes the strong political support expressed by Member States at yesterday’s Pledging Conference for UNRWA’s vital work providing humanitarian assistance and essential public services to millions of Palestine Refugees.    New funding amounting to USD 4 million was pledged during the conference, primarily for the emergency appeals. While UNRWA is very grateful for all contributions made in support of Palestine Refugees, the amounts received yesterday unfortunately do not significantly reduce the cashflow deficit of USD 100 million for 2026.    It is hoped that in the coming months, Member States will provide funding commensurate with the political support shown towards the work of the Agency. This is vital if UNRWA is to continue fulfilling its General Assembly mandate to protect and assist Palestine Refugees.
