Council tax is actually wealth tax (for broke AND rich people) Why do I have to pay over £5,000 to have my bins emptied? Just because my house is bigger? Or in a different area? It’s the same ‘service’ whether your house is worth £200K or £2 million. Up to £5,835 a year to get your bins emptied. Oh, and if I ALREADY pay a national tax, why am I paying a local tax on top?

So embarrassing. Immigration has fallen sharply and even Americans are openly shocked at how gullible the British public are. Cringe doesn’t even cover it. We urgently need a serious conversation about why small boat numbers are shoved down our throats every single day like it’s the only thing happening in the country. News services, especially publicly funded ones like the BBC, should never be agenda setters. They have a duty to licence payers to report facts, not amplify fear, not drip-feed panic, not distort reality through repetition. If people are angry, ask who keeps winding them up.

@djp3007 @Artemisfornow Yes - exactly. People have seen huge property gains for simply living in a house. It’s not really an award for taking risk it’s simply living and staying in one place. No real rationale for it being CGT free other than it always has been.

@DWJCarter @Artemisfornow So someone who has lived in a house for 20, 30 years bringing up a family maintaining and improving the property over those years and is now empty nesting or facing it won't sell up because they would face CGT on say £500,600,700k gains just to downsize and maybe free up cash?

That means ordinary people, already struggling with higher mortgage rates, get hit twice. And retirees living off pensions (sometimes very small pensions) will be forced out of their homes, paying huge taxes just to move and then stamp duty on the next place. This is YOUR money, being literally stolen by an incompetent government which has spaffed £ BILLIONs on projects you would never vote for (which is why they didn’t ask you) If you thought the Poll Tax was bad, you haven’t seen anything yet.

@CF3Loyal Dowell is a CM and he’s being played out of position. Yes he’s not good enough and it’s frustrating but hopefully Martin gets the best out of him as a CM.

It’s incredibly frustrating that Mikey Moore is not in the CL squad for tonight due to delays with his registration. We need pace and creativity in the wide positions so may need to start Antman just one day after signing. Anything is an upgrade on Dowell I suppose!

@HeartAndHamez Defence is our biggest issue. Need a LB and a left footed CB - think our strikers will do the job.

With Antman in (which I think is a superb signing) I reckon that’s all the wingers now in place. He along with Moore, Gass, Cortes and Curtis are the players vying for those spots I’d say. It’s a good set of options imo, but clearly 1 (2?) strikers are needed to compliment that.
