The idea that you can convert your dog's age to human years by multiplying by 7 is a total myth. Now researchers have developed a formula based on changes to DNA over time: multiply the natural logarithm of your dog's age in years by 16, then add 31 buff.ly/35fZJii
Bit late but I’ve just recovered from a crazy, intense & fun 2 weeks at the University of Southern Denmark attending the #Bioacoustics Summer School! It was so great to meet & work with so many lovely people from across the globe working on bioacoustics! 🔊🐬🦏🦉🕊🦇🦗🐸⛴
Wind turbines are good - providing safe domestic clean energy ⚡️
In US cats 🐈 kill 1.85 billion birds 🦜🕊🪶 per year
Buildings 676 million 💀
Vehicles 🚗 72 million 💀
Wind turbines 328,000 deaths = >0.01% of total bird deaths
Plant more wind turbines & keep cats inside
Dear animal behaviour, sensory bio, bioacoustics, bat, bird, frog and all other vocalising animal people - ever wondered how the sounds your animals radiate from them? How directional are the sounds, and how can this be quantified?

@DYKsloth Yeah none of the graphics are under 20 yr old. I want to know if kids 0-6, 7-11, 12-18 are different risk categories. How much should we worry about school opening up and no vaccines for the under 12 age group...
Is there a plot of covid risk to kids under 18, by age: a plot of age vs. rate of hospitalization or death? Only thing I have seen is the lumped data showing 0.01% mortality rate through the whole pandemic (but declining a lot from the start), here: aap.org/en/pages/2019-…
@chazz_findlay@jam_machund they were due to be replaced >10 years ago by more modern trains. They turned out to be not suitable for Danish climate and rusted away...
Having tried trains around northern Europe i think GB trains are a rather low baseline...
but anyhow - enjoy DK!
After all the dramas getting to this point I’ve finally made it to Denmark and am now on a very fancy train from Copenhagen to Aarhus!! 🇩🇰 #postdoc#travel#verytired#ThereAreNoHillsHere…

@KJ_PalmerPhD when trying to compile results of papers it's great to have abstract and results first (often abstract is not specific enough on outcomes). Based on those two you can decide whether to dig into methods and discussion.
@LEGO_Group Hi. I'm quite sure there's a difference in spec as all old bricks (+10y) stick and all new bricks (<2y) are loose. Just wondering when the change occured 😊
@DYKsloth@JAppliedEcology And because the signal pulses are so close together in each pulse chain which means it’s potentially being perceived as continuous by the animal… but the impulsive vs non-impulsive discussion was one we had a lot! So be interested to look into that! (2/2)
