@DrJoeAbah It is really hard to understand the logic behind it. The cutoff becomes even lower for catchment areas or certain admission categories. When the general cutoff itself keeps dropping, One can only wonder how fair the competition truly is.

OYO STATE NEEDS TO ENJOY WHAT OYO NORTH HAS BENEFITED. Development is most convincing when it is visible, measurable, and impactful. In Oyo North Senatorial District, the story of transformation in recent years clearly reflects these qualities. The district has experienced a remarkable shift in human capital development, infrastructure, and empowerment—largely attributed to the leadership and vision of Senator Buhari Abdulfatai Omotayo, Ph.D. For decades, Oyo North yearned for meaningful representation that would translate governance into real benefits for the people. That longing has now been met. Through deliberate interventions and people - centered policies, Senator Baf Buhari has changed the narrative, proving that purposeful leadership can truly transform lives. One of the most outstanding areas of impact is human capital development that has opened doors of opportunity for youths, artisans, students, and professionals, equipping them with skills, resources, and hope for a better future. Beyond human capital, Sen. Buhari has facilitated key developmental projects that address pressing community needs. These projects are not abstract promises; they are tangible interventions that communities can see, feel, and benefit from daily. Roads, empowerment schemes, educational support, and social welfare programs have collectively improved the quality of life across Oyo North. Indeed, what we witness today in Oyo North is not by coincidence. It is a testament to vision, commitment, and the grace of God working through purposeful leadership. As many residents would affirm, God has truly done wonders through BAF. Now, the critical question arises: If Oyo North can enjoy this level of development under Senator Buhari, imagine what the entire Oyo State stands to gain if he becomes the Executive Governor. Extending this proven leadership style to the state level would mean inclusive development, strategic investment in human capital, and governance that prioritizes the welfare of all citizens. Oyo State deserves a leader with a tested track record —someone who has not only promised change but has delivered it. Oyo North has benefited. Oyo State deserves the same. Senator Buhari is not just an option — he is the answer.

My opinion: Before now, Americans lived in a bubble. Their government, for decades, had propagandised them into believing that they were loved across the world, and that the unnecessary wars, regime change, and mayhem they perpetrated in numerous countries were supported by the nationals of said countries. However, since the beginning of the war America and Israel started in Iran, which has now destabilised the Middle East, Americans have gotten unfiltered opinions from voices around the globe concerning how we really feel about them policing the world, plundering resources, and sponsoring insurgency. They can now see that they are not loved and their government is very unpopular. Those who still have a conscience among them not only feel ashamed and angry at their government for lying to them for years, but they are now desensitized and if they continue to get these unfiltered opinions from us, they will rise and change the American regime. Of course, those who control the government don't want this to happen, and they must create a wall to prevent these opinions from reaching the Americans. But doing so explicitly by simply cutting off the rest of the world will create two situations. One, it will further radicalise those who are already tired of the lies of their government and fast-track the inevitable unrest and overhaul of the regime. Two, it will show the world that America is no different from Iran and China, which they constantly call dictatorships because they create a wall on their internet and social media to protect their people from Western propaganda. Since both of the foregoing outcomes are unfavourable, the only way to prevent people from airing their opinions on American politics and policies (which exploits the rest of the world) is to disincentivise us from doing so through creator payouts. And this is exactly what influenced this new policy. But let me be clear, the need to continuously expose Americans to the crimes of the American regime across the world far surpasses a few dollars that might be earned from being on the American side of X. So, we will continue to speak the truth because for us, it determines our future, and goes beyond earning a few dollars.

Starting Thursday, we'll be updating our revenue sharing incentives to better reward the content we want on X: We will be giving more weight to impressions from your home region—to encourage content that resonates with people in your country, in neighboring countries and people who speak your language. While we appreciate everyone's opinion on American politics, we hope this will disincentivize gaming the attention of US or Japanese accounts and instead, drive diverse conversations on the platform. We invite creators to start building an audience locally. X will be a much richer community when there's relevant posts for people in all parts of the world.

There are a number of points I would like to make on this CAF Appeals Committee ruling. First, let’s clear the air on this Senegal leaving the pitch for 15 minutes argument. There is nothing in the CAF Afcon Regulations that specifically state how much time a team may be off the pitch for them to forfeit the game. Second, there is nothing in the IFAB Laws of the Game addressing a team walking off and/abandoning a game. With those pieces of housekeeping done, let’s look at the actual regulations. And I will focus on Art 82 as it is the main crux of the issue. Art 84 is simply the sanction for violation. ARTICLE 82 If, for any reason whatsoever, a team withdraws from the competition or does not report for a match, or refuses to play or LEAVES THE GROUND before the regular end of the match without the authorisation of the referee, it shall be considered looser and shall be eliminated for good from the current competition. The same shall apply for the teams previously disqualified by decision of CAF. There are two offenses here that Senegal MAY have committed. The first is “refusing to play” the second is “leaves the ground” REFUSING TO PLAY It could be argued by the language of the Regulation that that does not apply to Senegal because by starting and playing the game, they did not “refuse to play”. Looking at the chronology of the wording, it starts with - withdraws from the competition - does not report for a match - refuses to play - leaves the ground The progression is clear: - not appearing for the competition - appearing but not showing up to play - showing up but refusing to play - and then leaving after If we go by the letter and progression there, then we can say that the only one that applies to Senegal is the last one. If the language had been “refuses to continue play”, with the operative word there being “continue” that might present a stronger case. But this might just be me splitting hairs. Now to the “leaves the ground” part. There are 16 mentions of “field” or “field of play” in these AFCON Regulations in reference to the pitch. Here are two examples: ART 16.20.2 The match is restarted with the same players on the FIELD and with the same substitutes available when the match was interrupted; ART 42.3 A player expelled from the FIELD by the referee is automatically suspended for the following match in the framework of the same competition, without prejudice to other sanctions that might be imposed upon him subsequently. Mentions of ground always refer to the venue, not the pitch. This distinction was clearly not accidental. Senegal may have left the field, but they did not leave the ground. So if we follow that argument, then we can see that there would have been no reason for the game to be abandoned as Senegal did not leave the ground. Only the field. Clear distinction Finally, we go to the outcome of the game and the authority of the referee to determine the result LAW 5 The decisions of the referee regarding facts connected with play, including whether or not a goal is scored and the result of the match, are final. The decisions of the referee, and all other match officials, must always be respected. “The referee may not change a restart decision on realising that it is incorrect or on the advice of another match official IF PLAY HAS RESTARTED or if play has restarted or the referee has signalled the end of the first or second half (including extra time) and left the field of play or abandoned the match. Clearly, even if we agree that the referee made a mistake in not abandoning the game, the fact that they completed the second half, and played two additional periods of extra time before coming to a result, precludes anything else. The referee restarted the game, it was played to a conclusion and there was a result. Senegal won. Morocco lost. C’est finis QED

@OlaiyaAzeezLaw1 What are they restructuring, the NNL has always been composed of 4 conferences for the past few years. The idea of relegating 3 out of 10 teams is one that is very strange in football world. For context, in the EPL and most Big leagues, 3 teams are relegated out of 20 teams.

I’ve never in my life cared to know who the CAN chairman is, how the association run it activities or their leadership style, and I’m very sure a lot of Muslims on and off here were never bothered to know anything about that association. But every year before Ramadan, you’ll see some Christians delving through the affairs of Muslim Leadership in Nigeria, particularly from the southern part of the country. Unfortunately, some misguided Muslims are doing their bidding. The Sultan of Sokoto is and will continue to be the Supreme Leader of Muslims in Nigeria.
