If you paid $1 in federal income taxes this year, you paid more than:
Walt Disney
Citigroup
CVS
Kohl's
Ticketmaster
Tesla
United Airlines
GoDaddy
Paypal
Palantir
Roku
HP
3M
PG&E
Halliburton
That’s absurd. We need real and progressive tax reform.
OMG!! This journalist is reporting that Israel has slit the throats of ten children and placed them on the side of the road , all of whom were less than 5 years old.
“I saw all of this with my own eyes; I am a witness to this thing.”
@TweetsbyCoachP I’m totally against this. It dilutes opportunities for late bloomers, kids that need gap years either for physical, mental, family, or financial reasons ( despite the narrative most student athletes still have to pay for most of their education and living expenses).
The NCAA floating a “5-year window to play 4 seasons” isn’t random, at least not in my opinion.
They have some logic to the process. This bakes in transfers, redshirts, possible mental health waivers, etc as a blanket one year build in.
But here’s the problem…
They’re trying to standardize something the courts keep saying is not theirs to fully control.
Every time the NCAA draws a hard line on eligibility, someone challenges it under:
• Restraint of trade
• NIL earning limitations
• Athlete employment arguments
And they’ve been losing. (They did win an appeal yesterday that could possibly shift things slightly).
A 5-year clock sounds clean on paper…
Until a 24-year-old with eligibility left sues because they can still make money playing.
Or a late bloomer argues their earning window was artificially shortened.
Or a transfer-heavy athlete claims the system punished mobility.
The NCAA is trying to patch a leaking roof with policy…
While the foundation (amateurism) is being ripped up in court.
This won’t be the final model.
In my opinion, it is simply the next one to get challenged. And this is from someone that actually favors some of the reasoning behind it.
@BernieSanders Why would you be in St Paul vs Washington passing a bill that actually pays our fellow Americans. You’re nothing but a grandstander and phony!
Tomorrow, millions of Americans will be joining No Kings rallies.
We will be saying NO to authoritarianism.
NO to oligarchy.
NO to endless wars.
NO to the continued attacks against the working class.
I look forward to seeing you in St. Paul, MN.
Metro Atlanta will see multiple “No Kings” protests this Saturday, with a major march starting downtown at 10 a.m., likely causing traffic delays and increased police presence.
We cannot normalize ICE inserting itself into our daily lives.
Here is a reminder: ICE agents do not belong at airports. ICE agents do not belong at polling stations. ICE agents do not belong undermining our rights and hurting our communities.
@SenSchumer Americans with any sort of a brain are not buying your shit show excuses. Ice is already funded. Pass the damn bill. This whole mess is on democrats the voting numbers for the save act say it all !
Today, for the TENTH TIME, Democrats will go to the floor to demand that we pay TSA immediately.
And for the TENTH TIME, Republicans will have a chance to join us. I’m not holding my breath.
Oh Schumer, we can see right through this BULLSHIT...
After @elonmusk proposed to pay the TSA workers, all the guards dropped off?
You're probably expecting your low information voters to think that you could bring a motion to the floor for a bill that's not standalone and twist a narrative that the Republicans are "blocking" the bill?
Don't worry, on X, we got you covered. We will call you out.
I won't be surprised if President Trump is behind this strategy.. 🤔
Since I can chew gum and walk at the same time, let me educate the voters.
To open with, what Chuckey is trying to do is IMPOSSIBLE unless he's a magician.
Under Article I, Section 7 of the U.S. Constitution (the Origination Clause) and over two centuries of congressional precedent, all appropriations and spending bills - including funding for agencies like the TSA - must originate in the House of Representatives, not the Senate.
Chuck Schumer, as Senate Democratic Leader, cannot unilaterally “bring a motion to the floor to FULLY FUND TSA” as a standalone bill; the Senate can only amend or vote on legislation that has already passed the House.
Republicans in the House have already passed multiple clean bills to fund the entire Department of Homeland Security (including TSA, Coast Guard, FEMA, and ICE), yet Senate Democrats have blocked them, turning the impasse into political theater rather than a workable funding solution.
Schumer’s announcement is therefore procedurally impossible and designed purely to force an on-the-record vote while dodging responsibility for the broader shutdown his party helped create.
Now X, do your thing.....
The average person is more likely to be struck by lightning than they are to commit voter fraud.
Seriously. That's a real stat.
I'm voting NO on the SAVE America Act.
I’ve gone to every State of the Union since I was elected to Congress—including during Trump’s first term. I’d rather stick needles in my eyes than listen to his manifesto of mistruths.
@CAgovernor God forbid we take away more money from the pharmaceutical companies who line your pockets! The amount is “required” vaccines before the age of 5 is more dangerous than the disease they are suppose to protect us from. But someone as corrupt as you wouldt care about that
California is helping lead a multi-state lawsuit against RFK Jr. and the CDC for illegally removing 7 childhood vaccines from the federal list of universally recommended shots.
We're not sitting back while the Trump Administration threatens kids with preventable diseases.
@GavinNewsom Shouldn’t you quote Charlie Kirk for that? He had been saying it for years. Yes pre Trump and you are doing nothing to help the situation.
