Calling out double standards, with a side of comedy

Christopher Nolan says The Odyssey is ultimately about the idea that a society can only function through respect for strangers. He believes that, despite 3,000 years passing since Homer, that fundamental truth about human nature hasn’t changed.

These are facts about The Odyssey. Which begs the question: Why were the actors so prominent in the advertising for this film?

Just saw Nolan’s #TheOdyssey. As much as I wanted to like it, it’s a long tedious affair; short on surprises ( though there are a few gross out moments) and just indulgent. The Return, with Ralph Fiennes last year was a far superior adaptation of the Odyssey finale. Matt Damon was fine, but on the whole these were far from the career defining performances sold in so many reviews. This is Oppenheimer in Spartan attire. Wait for it to stream.

NEW RULES! Mia Farrow wrote a post on the Bluey place virtue signaling and used the phrase “identifies as” and got roasted for it. Apparently they don’t like that phrase now. So whatever you do. Don’t use it.

WSJ: Israel is pouring vast sums of money into conservative media, AI and MAGA influencers to re-contaminate the minds of American youth to once again love, revere and pledge loyalty to Israel. wsj.com/politics/israe…
