Woman loses her mind over being on camera decided to destroy property and got treated to two cans of spray. ​We are at the United States Post Office in South Pasadena, California, where this incident involved a physical confrontation, damaged equipment, and a deployment of pepper spray. ​The incident began inside the post office lobby, where the cameraman was filming in public exercising his constitutional rights. A female customer inside the lobby objected to being recorded, leading to a brief but tense verbal exchange. ​The situation rapidly escalated when the woman took it upon herself to grab and damage the cameraman*s recording equipment. The confrontation spilled outside onto the post office steps, where she grabbed onto the cameraman's monopod. During the physical struggle over the gear, the cameraman deployed pepper spray directly at her to break her grip and regain control of his equipment but not before she commits battery. Officers from the South Pasadena Police Department arrived on the scene shortly after. Following a review of the cell phone footage captured during the encounter, police issued the woman a criminal citation on the scene for misdemeanor battery and vandalism (the cameraman noted his $400 monopod was broken during the scuffle). True to form from law enforcement from California where they allow criminals to b get away with anything they want. You can bet if the roles were reversed they would have put the guy in cuffs. ​While a citation was issued, the local police department cannot formally file charges; instead, the case packet was forwarded to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office (Alhambra Branch) for review. Public records do not currently show a formal update on whether the DA pursued prosecution or declined the case, which is common in complex misdemeanor altercations involving mutual allegations of assault and self-defense. ​ What are your thoughts on how this situation was handled? Are you surprised by the lack of action from the local PD?

The criminal is the woman! There are MULTIPLE cameras in and around the Post office, but NO, those aren’t a problem in these people’s eyes. WAKE UP PEOPLE, you are being surveilled 24/7, and don’t say a damn word about that! You people are just picking on the low hanging fruit, the man standing in front of you. LOOK AROUND, and see all the cameras video recording ALL the time! Just because you can’t see the operator doesn’t mean they are not there. You should be more fearful of the cameras you don’t notice or see!

Here’s what I don’t get about all these accounts doing this stuff Yes, you are absolutely within your rights to video people and take pictures in public spaces. You’ve proven your point you can and will do anything you can possibly do within your rights. Furthermore, I completely support these rights. What I don’t understand is why go out of your way to provoke complete strangers? Yes it’s up to them to not act out and assault you but why go out of your way to provoke? What are you gaining from it except getting views on your videos of people attacking you?
