A Boeing 767-200ER full fuel (~179,000 kg MTOW) at high speed (~500 mph / 223 m/s) has ~4.5 GJ kinetic energy (½mv²). A CRJ-900 at landing (~34,000 kg MLW, ~145 knots / 75 m/s) has ~0.095 GJ. The 767 carries ~47x more destructive energy, which is why high-speed impacts differ dramatically from low-speed ones.
