@EricLDaugh The GOP needs a full throated rebuke of compassion. It doesn’t matter if you’ve lived here 30 years. If you crossed illegally, you’re a criminal. This is black and white. Compassion for criminals will destroy the west.

🚨 ALERT: A red city in Florida just denied to work with the Trump administration on detaining illegal aliens for deportation. This is Byron Donalds' district. THIS IS INSANE. Fort Myers City Council has denied entering the 287(g) program, which *EVERY* Florida county sheriff is a part of. BRYON DONALDS: "Every council-member who voted to flagrantly violate federal and state law should lose their job." The vote was ultimately 3-3. It would have trained FMPD officers to help enforce immigration laws. If Southwest Florida - a GOP BASTION - cannot do something as simple as help Trump's ICE, we have big issues. The Mayor of Fort Myers, Kevin Anderson, is going on our LIVE show @FLVoiceNews on 𝕏 to discuss this development. What do you want to hear from him?

Chaos in Gaza tonight as people are trying to flee the airstrikes. Hamas never built any air raid shelters, only terror tunnels.

Democrats say same things about different judges. Both sides are correct here. Fundamentally the issue is it’s too hard to legislate because of the filibuster. Lack of legislation created a void filled by ever expanding executive power which in turn was countered by ever expanding judicial challenges. All of this could be avoided by eliminating the filibuster.

Those upset by the emerging dictatorship of district court justices behaving as though they were president should read the Judiciary Act of 1802. Jefferson and his party completely revised the court system and abolished a series of federalist judges they deemed illegitimate. A warning to the current out of control judiciary.

@Clips_ETH @visegrad24 I think history is a good teacher. Radicalized societies who elect terrorists (Japan/Germany 1940’s) only change when the pain they suffer for their choices is relentless and unfathomable (atomic bomb).

@visegrad24 It's truly heartbreaking to hear about the chaos in Gaza. Let's hope for a peaceful resolution and send positive thoughts to those affected. Have you ever thought about ways we can support communities in crisis like this?

@sesmillesimus @ParT0utatis I agree. It’s a tragedy Hamas would rather see their own people killed than surrender and release hostages. However there is no way to pursue an enemy actively using guerilla tactics without killing innocent lives. To blame Israel is to say the nation has no right to self defense

@sesmillesimus @visegrad24 Targeting civilians means paragliding into a music festival or entering a Kibbutz. Bombing a city with known combatants is perfectly legal. Sadly Hamas doesn’t mark their buildings in neon lights for easy IDF identification.

@RubinReport @mmfa There’s a whole study it corresponds to. This is one chart…one illustration. It’s literally just subscriber numbers. What are you so mad about? Chill. Go get laid, man. It’ll help make you less of a hysterical reflexive lippy brat.

1. What you see here is clearest illustration why things are so messed up and why it cannot get any better until this asymmetry is addressed. Put simply: right-wing has narrative dominance. My org (@mmfa) did this study and been sounding this alarm for years. Some thoughts...

@earlyvotedata Looks amazing if you like how the 2 senators per state rule has evolved into a skewed anti-democracy result.

The New York Times estimate of how many people would die from USAID cuts *this year* is just staggering. Nearly two million from AIDS relief cuts, half a million from vaccine cuts and from food aid cuts each, 600,000 from of malaria and tuberculosis cuts. Genuinely monstrous

Elon Musk says that no one has died because he slashed humanitarian aid. I went to South Sudan to check if that's true. It's not. Within an hour of starting interviews, I had the names of a 10-year-old boy and an 8-year-old girl who had died because of decisions by wealthy men in Washington. The visit that moved me the most was to a remote area that used to have no health care, where women routinely died in childbirth. Then a US-funded maternity clinic opened through @UNFPA in December, and not one woman has died since. I showed up, and people mistakenly thought I was responsible for the clinic. One new mom wanted to name her baby for me, and the village elders thanked me and hailed America's generosity. What they didn't know was that Trump/Musk had cut all funding for UNFPA and that as a result the maternity clinic will close this month, and women will once again be bleeding to death in the dust. Here's a giftlink to my report from ground level about what the shutdown of USAID means: nytimes.com/interactive/20…

@Jaymemaskup @maiamindel @macro_models Who determines what is “fair”? The alternative isn’t disastrous. People who make bad choices die, which limits bad choices in the future. By preventing consequences, we get more bad choices. Government charity creates dependence and immorality everywhere it is tried.

@Jaymemaskup @maiamindel @macro_models I would much rather have a small percentage of people die for bad, immoral choices than a much higher percentage kept on government life support that is just tolerable enough and fails to send a strong deterrent to prevent such behavior in the future.

@TonerousHyus @earlyvotedata Ok. They have different methodology that makes them less bouncy. If they model the electorate correctly they will look like geniuses but they would likely not capture genuine shifts due to their sampling method.

Many things can be true at the same time: 1) Trump’s performance, while tumultuous as is his style, is approved overall by voters (give or take). 2) Dems are very disliked and their brand is repulsive to voters not seen since the GOP in the mid to late 2000s. 3) People are hopeful for the future. If Trump can get the Russia/Ukraine war ended, prices even lower, stabilize the tariff issue, all while cutting/chainsawing the government: he will be back to 55-58% approval. But that’s a lot of heavy lifting there. It is a dream list that could happen, not anywhere guaranteed.
Isaac Saul@Ike_Saul

Wild stuff in polling right now: - DJT at record approval in NBC - Dems at all-time low favorability - Dems up in midterm generic ballot by a point - DJT majority disapproval on the economy (first time ever) - Highest "America on the right track" since 2004 Makes zero sense
