I'm sure They belive God exists but that's not what John 3:16 is referring to. Its belief that Christ paid for your sins

@Baldwin1418419 @trad_west_ The idea is that works, which could just be positive change in your life, is evidence that someone is not lying about their faith, whether that lie be at themselves or other people. You are saved by faith, yes, but some people are not honest about their faith.

@Daboochy @trad_west_ You guys always point to the book of James, when James is literally talking to saved people! That is why he says "brethren". The phrase "faith without works is dead" is saying faith without works is not useful. Its not saying faith without works isn't faith or you're not saved.

@Baldwin1418419 @trad_west_ James 2:14-26 Faith without deeds is dead. Good deeds are the inevitable outcome of your faith in Jesus Christ. Even demons believed God exists. The deeds do not save you, correct, but those who believe and do not act on it have no relationship with him in the first place.

@Daboochy @trad_west_ Where does it say that if you don't love Christ, then you can't be saved? Acts 16:30 says believe, and you'll be saved, John 3:15-16 says believe, and you'll be saved, Ephesians 2:8-9 says we are saved by grace through faith, and not of our works.
