@FanaticsNd @HorsemenPod Early the season I called the band office to inquire about the reason for the move, and was told it was moved outside to provide for more space, and there are no plans to bring the tradition back inside.

@HorsemenPod Trumpets Under the Dome isn’t’ coming back due to concern with structural integrity inside the building caused by the weight of the band on the landings, and vibration of their instruments. It is now Trumpets at the Dome, outside the administration building.

I had an absolute blast at Notre Dame, as always. Great people, stunning campus, tradition beyond compare. But I have 2 complaints: 1. Trumpets under the dome is gone 2. Pep rallies are gone I’m mildly concerned about the degradation of tradition. Hopefully they come back.

@HorsemenPod I’ve been complaining about the deconstruction of game weekend traditions to anyone who will listen for years. Post-COVID, Trumpets under the Dome, were moved outside, greatly diminishing the effect.

@ZachSFoster @HorsemenPod Trumpets by or at the dome happened—but not under the dome. It hasn’t been in the dome since before COVID. The effect is greatly lost outside.

one thing that confused me about Planet of the Apes—they never explained how they got the statue of liberty all the way to the ape planet?

@bigkorb @hughesaz @Super70sSports The clock actually went to :00 and a large portion of the stadium thought the game was over. But the helmet to ball hit along the sideline at about the one to Leinert, shot the ball back and out of bounds, so referee correctly put time back on the clock. It’s still painful! 🙂

@hughesaz @DadDoesNotWork @Super70sSports I forgot about the fumble too. I remember there was a bunch of confusion right at the end. And the place went eerily quiet after it had been crazy all night.

What was your most heartbreaking moment as a sports fan?

@bigkorb @hughesaz @Super70sSports I was there too. I believe Ambrose Wooden was in coverage and I believe it was 4th and 11. USC called timeout right beforehand as well. Also how unlucky was it that Leinert fumbled the ball out of bounds the play before the push. If the ball stays in bounds—game over.

@hughesaz @Super70sSports Yeah, Trevor Laws missed Leinert by fingertips.....i can't still see that ball sailing down the left sideline, hoping it was overthrown. The rest of the game happened so fast after that and in the opposite endzone. Didn't know till after about the push.

Once when I was 12 I bared my soul to my older brother, sobbing about him having so many close friends while I had none. He listened carefully, nodded, and finally said "it's because you look like a frog, dude."
