Exactly, and that’s the distinction I’ve been making. Donations remain private and tax‑exempt because they’re religious income. But once a church starts selling goods or running universities, those activities enter the taxable economy. At that point, they’re competing with regular businesses, so the expectation is clear: similar tax rules should apply. The real issue isn’t ownership of the money, it’s proper enforcement of taxation on commercial ventures.
English

@Daddy_Da_Drew @Wizarab10 The issue isn’t whether the money becomes public
It’s whether the activity enters the taxable economy
Once it does, the expectation is: “You’re competing in the same space as businesses, so similar tax rules should apply.
English

The church money is public money. Public money must be used for public good and accounted for. This is common sense. How a private individual chooses to spend his own money, is not your problem.
The only thing you can compare to church money is tax collected by government, grant given to NGO for public use, money donated by the public for public good.
You church people need to stop being stupid simply because you can’t hold your pastor accountable.

Where are the hypocrites that insult the church for spending millions on building and programs and still do many things the government isn’t doing? But now that Money is being spent on Lust and darkness, you call it flexing. Wisdom can’t catch up with you, you’re too fast.

True, churches in Nigeria are tax‑exempt on religious income, but the law is clear: once they engage in business activities, those profits are supposed to be taxed. The problem isn’t the principle, it’s enforcement. Selling items or running universities doesn’t automatically make church money ‘public funds', it just means those ventures should be treated like any other taxable business. The donations remain private, but accountability and proper taxation of commercial arms is where government oversight is often weak.
English

@Daddy_Da_Drew @Wizarab10 Churches in Nigeria are mostly tax-exempt on religious income
They are supposed to pay taxes on business activities, They sell Stickers, handkerchief,Water, stone, padlocks, and all sort of garbage. And Mega-churches Universities are not even taxed properly.

🚨 Breaking News 😳💔💔
Michael B. Jordan has finally responded after Kim Kardashian’s viral comment asking if he’s single following his Oscars win.
And let’s just say… he didn’t hold back 😤
> “I’m good. Every time a successful Black man is winning, somehow you try to insert yourself into the moment and shift the narrative. Not happening here.”
He added:
> “I worked too hard for this to turn into something else. Respectfully… keep me out of it.”
Moral Lesson: Not every spotlight needs company. Sometimes, protect your win and let your success speak for itself.

Non‑profits, including churches, don’t pay income tax because the law recognizes they’re not set up to generate profit for individuals. But that doesn’t make their money ‘public funds.’ It’s still private donations, only exempted from tax as long as it’s used for the mission of the organization. That’s why accountability is key, tax exemption doesn’t mean the money becomes government or public property.
English

@Daddy_Da_Drew @Wizarab10 Private institutions that doesn't pay tax???
English

Who's going to manage the money?
Anyway, yes, offerings and tithes are ordained by God, but once they’re given, humans still have to manage them. That’s why churches register legally as institutions, so there’s structure, trustees, and accountability. Spiritually, it’s God’s command; practically, it’s people handling money. Mixing both realities is what ensures the church can function without confusion.
English

@Daddy_Da_Drew @Wizarab10 So offering and title ordnaned by God is now managed by trustees or leaders?? And "Church is now and institution. Okay.

Control of church funds depends on how each denomination structures itself. In Catholic and Anglican churches, trustees and councils oversee finances. In Pentecostal settings, pastors often have more direct influence, but legally the funds still belong to the church as an institution, not the pastor personally. That’s why accountability is important across all denominations to separate church money from personal money.
English

@Daddy_Da_Drew @Wizarab10 who controls or dictate what happens to the church funds?
your analysis is only equivalent to the Catholics, Anglican and their likes not the Pentecostals

Of course the members are from the public, but once they donate (give), the money no longer remains their personal property. It becomes the church’s institutional funds, managed by trustees or leaders. That’s why I said it’s not ‘the members’ money’ anymore, nor automatically the pastor’s personal money. The distinction is between source (public donations) and ownership (the church as an organization).
