A forest is not just trees. It is a water treatment plant, a carbon vault, a pharmacy, a flood barrier, and a source of #livelihoods. It’s a reminder that where forests are protected, #economies grow and #equality flows. Let’s manage and value them for everything they are.

Mr. @JamesThembo_ is leading an insightful session with students, diving deep into the world of forestry. From identifying diverse tree species to understanding their unique characteristics, the students are learning that trees are more than just nature, they are a backbone for the future. The highlight? A deep dive into the socio-economic value of tree planting. Mr. @JamesThembo_ is showing these young minds how forestry creates jobs, stabilizes local climates and builds long-term wealth for the community. Investing in trees today, investing in our leaders tomorrow.

Rukungiri 📌 We are currently at St. Raphael Secondary School in Nakanyina, where @GoodForestsUg along side @GITA_Africa have successfully donated and planted over 450 trees. This initiative features a curated selection of 10 different species, including a variety of fruits like mangoes, guavas, jackfruit and avocados, alongside medicinal species such as Prunus africana. The project also introduces high-value timber giants, including Mahogany, Terminalia superba, Musizi, Muvule and Grevillea robusta. By establishing this mixed woodlot, we aim to promote biodiversity and environmental sustainability, ensuring a greener future and a practical learning environment for the school Children
