@AS_paris_london Ah thanks lovely, I've asked so many people and no one was very clear about it so that's super helpful! I was just looking through the position paper and competencies so will look for the visual. Hope you're well?

I have FEES questions which may be stupid but wanted to check my understanding: 1. Can 2A and 2B do FEES together for "non complex" patients? (Granted you can't always know before!) 2. Do 2A have to have all comps signed off before they are officially 2A? Or working towards?

👋 We are aware of the recent incident with Biozoon and investigation done by Lincolnshire Hospital. We have stopped using the device while we are doing our own review into its safety. @BiozoonUK do you have any updates or assurances on this?
Maria Pd@mariap_SLT

Thank you to @ICS_updates for having me to present at #SOA24 on our step down SLT service and the use of BIOZOON in Critical Care 🤩🤓 @BiozoonUK @BHRUT_Therapies @BHRUT_SLT @BhrAnaesthetic @RCSLT

Returning to work after annual leave is always a struggle, however today felt a bit more difficult than usual having got married on 13.06.24 🥰 I think it’ll take a while to get back to normality, whatever that is 😂

Presented my first ever poster at #SOA24! I've had a thought provoking day of trache myth busting with @MsAnnaLiisaSutt & @HelenNewmanSLT providing research about trache tube size & the impact on weaning - a conversation we have regularly! Taking many ideas back to work with me

Had a brilliant day today at the "growing your SLT career" event hosted by the Herts and West Essex team. Thought provoking discussions around all the opportunities there are within SLT, having a "portfolio career" and looking at the @RCSLT professional development framework.

I'm putting together my first ever poster presentation for @ICS_updates #SOA24 later this month. Does anyone have any top tips? Really looking forward to the event and getting my brain back into SLT in ICU! 🧠

I don't work there anymore, but this is my old job, so I can vouch for how amazing it is. B7 SLT in Major Trauma team, access to instrumental ax/training, a wonderful team, amazing sun terrace in the canteen for summer and the most delicious coffee shop! jobs.nhs.uk/candidate/joba…

Spent my last day at NBT with my work pals making a Major Trauma/Hyper Acute Rehab Team inspired Easter bonnet (ft. humpty Dumpty with a craniotomy, an EVD, a missing bone flap and a helmet), filling my day with laughter and fun, the nicest way to finish 8 wonderful years ❤️

Had a lovely day back on ICU after almost 2 years away. 2 PMSV assessments, lots of complex communication and dysphagia ax and lots of re-prioritising my caseload because people were better/had gotten worse. Glorious! Loved every minute of it.

One to read for SLTs in critical care, particularly those involved in follow up clinics - systematic review on persistent features of laryngeal injury after intubation

@EllieHatch5 We saw a case of this once, like @amyendacott says, with a neuro patient. We never managed to get to the bottom of a cause and there was almost no improvement over time. Really interesting to read the hypothesis of this paper though when reflecting back on the case!

Day 46/#365papers - A case report detailing bilateral VC palsy post-extubation resulting in tracheostomy, has anyone seen this before? And if so, what was your experience/the patients recovery like? It seems pretty niche in the literature! (1/2) sciencedirect.com/science/articl…
