@IsraelF96135088 Some of these might not be empty after all. Don’t rely on 2D classes as filter. I prefer multiple and extensive round of 3D with a 2/3 « junk 3D models » as decoy classes.

Membrane/nanodisk cryoEM folks: help! we collected a small dataset in gold-grids with thick-ish ice, we can see mainly top views 👇 of empty nanodisks. I am shocked by the variation of dimensions in a sample coming from a nice peak in SEC, ideas? is this common? The mask is 110Å

Any #cryoEM facility users/staff with a take on ideal balance of EM user guidance vs. freedom?🧐Users working through scope hiccups learn a lot, but create chaos. Those shielded from hiccups generate more data, but not fewer issues (just different). And never grow into experts.🤷🏻♀️
