Everyone, please take a moment and allow me to explain why Donald Trump’s mockery of Christ struck me so deeply. I was once a lost soul, drowning in pain both spiritually and physically. I was mentally exhausted, and it felt as though everything that could go wrong in my life was going wrong. My health was declining rapidly, and doctors still struggle to manage my pain and bring my many symptoms under control. I was so lost that, about six to eight months ago, I came very close to taking my own life. As I sat on the floor crying, holding a gun in my right hand and ready to pull the trigger, a sudden calmness and peace unlike anything I had ever known washed over me. My entire body was covered in chills, and it felt as though someone was gently holding me. That very night, I surrendered my mind, body, and soul to my Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ. Because of that encounter, I now see the world through spiritual eyes—the way every true believer does. We see things clearly in a way that a lost soul simply cannot. That image was not the President of the United States trying to portray a doctor. To me, and to many other believers, it was a clear portrayal and a slap in the face to everyone who follows Christ and has been truly saved. It broke my heart. I have always been a Trump supporter, but that moment was different for me. It crossed a line I could not ignore. Please, do not allow yourself to become so consumed by politics that your spiritual eyes become blinded. Christians are under attack now more than ever. As a child of Christ, I have decided to respond as I believe He would have me respond. For a long time, I have been like Simon Peter—ready to defend my Lord’s name with everything I have. But I’ve come to understand something important: I don’t have to fight His battles. The Lord is more than capable of fighting and winning His own battles. My role, and the role of every believer, is simply to speak the truth in love and then move forward. With that said, as far as I’m concerned, Donald Trump is the President of the United States—and a very effective one at that. However, after seeing how lost so many in the MAGA movement have become, I can no longer support the idea that anyone who disagrees with Trump on any point deserves to be bashed or hated. It has become clear that for many, he has become an idol, and that is something I cannot participate in. He is a man. He is the President. He is not the Savior, and I will not treat him as such. Jesus Christ is King. He is the only true Healer of this nation and every nation. If you call yourself a Christian but cannot see the troubling message in that image, I gently encourage you to open your Bible and seek the Lord’s heart on the matter. I’m sure I will be called every name in the book in the comments, and that’s okay. Say what you will. I serve only One, and that is Jesus Christ—the Man who died for my sins and for yours, so that we might have everlasting life with Him one day. With that, I’ll leave it here. Y’all stay blessed. Please pray for President Trump, for our nation, for our troops, and for every lost soul who has not yet turned to Jesus. God bless you.
