This may be one of the better changes X has made in a while. The whole point of following people back is that you actually want to see them. But lately, reply sections have felt like walking into a room full of strangers arguing while the people you know are standing somewhere in the back. Most people are not here just to go viral. They are here to find their people, talk to them regularly, and build an actual community. I still want discovery. I still want strangers to find my posts. But the people I chose to follow back should not be harder to find than someone who showed up five seconds ago looking for a fight. This feels like a good balance between the town square and the neighborhood.

Does the tooth fairy cross state lines? My son lost a tooth on our trip yesterday, and he worried that the tooth fairy wouldn’t find his incisor. ‘Florida has its own tooth fairy, right?’ He asked a fair question and I wasn’t sure. We researched it deeply, and it turns out that there is a Head Tooth Fairy Of The Americas with branches in each state and province. The North Carolina Tooth Fairy left my son 2 dollars under his pillow. We arrived today at the airport gate and my son was telling everyone about the two dollars he got from the North Carolina tooth fairy. A gentleman next to me grins and ‘takes a call’. He says, ‘Hey, son, I’ve got the tooth fairy on the line. There was a mixup between the branches.’ He winks, gives my son a dollar, and then we go and buy some M&M‘s. I immediately Dad Taxed a green and blue one, and my son grumbled about the capricious nature of taxes. Two things I learned at the airport today: 1. people are wonderful 2. taxes are inevitable Go have the best day!

I miss the days when people on 𝕏 were simply themselves. It was genuinely fun to "meet" them here. Then came the race for followers, likes, impressions, "reply guy" tactics... It all started to feel fake and, for many, less appealing. I hope Nikita's latest announcement helps bring us back to what made this platform under Elon special in the first place: real people and real conversations.

I saw my first DOG identifier yesterday at the park I go to almost daily with my daughters. There was an 11 or 12 year old (not sure if a boy or girl) fully decked out frolicking around the park and trying to hangout with the actual dogs. I even saw it smell a dogs butt. The parents were fully encouraging it and praising it. WTF is wrong with people.
