Twitter is wild because you're not talking to a specific person, not code switching, so you get to see extremely clearly what a person's inner monologue sounds like

I’m happy to see a publisher pull an AI-generated book. I hope it has a chilling effect on people trying to sell AI slop. If you can’t be bothered to write it, we can’t be bothered to read it. Gift link: nytimes.com/2026/03/19/boo…

I know I'm very close to the end of my luteal phase when my car's seat belt alarm sounds like it's scolding me, and a few tears escape the corners of my tiny rat eyes.

Multiple societies throughout history all came to the conclusion that charging interest on loans was immoral. Punishable by death in some cases. Now we've all done a collective 180 and decided it's the glue holding the world economy together? I think we got it right first time.

Once you make a really hyper or self aware comment people become more careful and respectful around you There’s an implicit understanding that it wouldnt take much for you to get a deep and accurate read on them

@TraceyRyniec @MireMarke @jbienkahn Would it be considered acceptable for the writer to rephrase the output into new prose? Or is the origin itself still an issue. Because rewriting would evade detection.

This is extremely big and public and humiliating for this writer, but just know: I’m also privately cancelling each and every writer who pitches me with AI (and I’m sure many other editors are too)…

@jbienkahn I’m not sure if it’s the whole novel, big chunks or small paragraphs, but Wouldn’t it be super easy to get the AI version and just put it in your own words? So not only is it unethical and an aberration to literature & the creative process but it’s incredibly lazy.

The millennial "lol" at the end of a sentence gets a lot of hate from the zoomers but it's actually a beautiful thing?? It's about LOVE, about BELONGING, it's meant to say "please don't hate me for this thing I just said, I want to be LOVED, I am ONLY HUMAN!!"

of course you can. you’re the general contractor. The orchestrator. And the mind that conceived of it. just because you have employees, tools, a team, doesn’t mean you didn’t build it. does a GC tell people they built a house? yep. did they use an entire team that they hand picked and trained, etc. to do it? yep.

Let’s finally agree on this. If I vibe coded a project, can I still tell people that I built it?

I've known some attractive women in poly relationships. Nothing like reddit poly relationships you see on here. In all cases, it was two women in a relationship that also wanted a male partner and a potential family. Often with some weird dynamics attached, but still not a wild ugly pile of fluid genders like Reddit.

Don't hate me for this but, I don't buy "poly" relationships. I think its just uglies grouping up for survival.

Still one of the craziest random facts I've ever heard: If you intermarry and have a mixed-race kid, you will have more genetically in common with a stranger of your race, than your own child 😳 This is why parents of mixed kids statistically have a much more difficult time connecting with their children on a deep level. They have completely different biological hardware, especially psychologically.

I am not like an African. Even if I had a child with an African, I would not be like my half-African child. We are not the same.

@benwehrman I wonder what happens with, let say, a white man having a child with a hispanic woman, and the baby came looking exactly like the man What happen in such cases? Or the opposite, a white man with an asian woman and the baby looks like her
