The obvious flip side here is that many gamers do want photorealism sometimes. If you want to play Cyberpunk with a photorealism 1200 mod pack, go nuts. If you want to use a feature like what DLSS 5 is offering, go nuts. If you prefer less realistic animations, go nuts.

We are well past the point of “normalizing” AI features in games. That is where this train is headed. There is no stopping it unless nobody wants or buys these products and uses these features. Government can heavily regulate AI but that will only slow it down, not stop it.

It’s up to devs if DLSS 5 photorealism is an option in their games, and they will be able to tune it to their own liking. It’s exclusive to 50 series cards, so any dev who relies on it to make their game pretty for them would be pretty foolish. The backlash is…confusing 🤷🏼‍♂️
