The original film adapted and did something that felt real and matched the tone of the action. The special editions produced some jarring cgi that now looks at once horribly dated and out of place.

One of those George Lucas Star Wars changes I’m not a fan of.
In the original version of Empire Strikes Back, Vader tells his troops “Bring my shuttle.” You can feel his anger after Luke rejected him.
There was no need for Lucas to add anything else. Less is more here.

People are chimping out at Matt over this but nobody has been able to name one thing that has significantly grown in quality in the past 10-20 years.
Every commodity, even as they have become cheaper and more accessible has decreased in quality.
I am begging somebody to name 1 thing that is all around a better product than its counterpart from the 90s

It's an empirical fact that basically everything in our day to day lives has gotten worse over the years. The quality of everything -- food, clothing, entertainment, air travel, roads, traffic, infrastructure, housing, etc -- has declined in observable ways. Even newer inventions -- search engines, social media, smart phones -- have gone down hill drastically. This isn't just a random "old man yells at clouds" complaint. It's true. It's happening. The decline can be measured. Everyone sees it. Everyone feels it. Meanwhile political pundits and podcast hosts (speaking of things that are getting worse) focus on anything and everything except these practical real-life problems that actually affect our quality of life.

@rugby_ap It is nonsense to suggest Mann gouged Etzebeth on the basis of a very blurry still that would nonetheless appear to suggest that one of Mann’s digits could only have reached Etzebeth’s eye if his hand defied the laws of both biology and physics.

Personally think it’s 18 weeks start point with mitigation applied in the usual way and probably also because he was himself gouged. Would like it to stay at 12-14 weeks tbh.

@Moeriusie @tribe_talking In this blurry photo Mann’s right hand is on Eben’s face but there is no finger in his eye. Bear in mind it’s Mann’s right hand so no thumb can extend into the rut. Meanwhile you can see Eben’s elbow on Mann’s jaw.

it will be bad for Eben, and correctly so.
reason is that he actually get his hands and fingers around the eye area of Alex Mann 4 different times.
the clip below is not repeating footage , it is the sequence as it happened. you can see after the first eye contact , he follow it up with more hands at the eyes.
so while he is maybe not "gouging" in the most hard core sense of it, there is clear intent to mess with Mann's eyes.
yes people making the point that he was victim to the same thing at the previous ruck which is why he is doing this, but that is irelevant.
Intentional contact with eyes ranges from 12 weeks (low end) to 18 weeks to 24 weeks (top end)
very disappointing from him😢
