@Shizukougames Good lord it's so warm, and it's not going to cool down overnight, this may be the end of us!

@pastalbedo Buy an AC unit, that can't be fitted in my rented flat 🤦
English

@Mbakaza4L Working from home when you don't need to go in to the office removes traffic from the roads, so those that have to go into a place of work can get there faster and less stressed out. Shouldn't be that difficult to figure out really, it's better for everyone.

@NyxieSinclair Stick a t shirt on that's soaked in cold water, then point a fan at yourself. You now have make shift air conditioning

@Shizukougames Why do all the v tubers seem to hate the two weeks of sun we get a year?

@crankygoddess Houses in Europe might have been built before America to existed...

usamericans act like no european has ever thought of the concept of ac before but the reason why we don't have any is because we DIDN'T NEED IT UNTIL LIKE 10 YEARS AGO. the hottest it ever got in summer was like 30ºC. the infrastructure just hasn't kept up with climate change

@Shizukougames Shizu "how can I include myself and all my fans in a post"?
English

@hehimta That's not true though, the guidance specifically goes over this point.

I, as a man, can now enter a woman’s toilets and claim I’m a trans man to any woman who complains, and legally, the venue/staff aren’t allowed to intervene to challenge my gender.
Kind of a major flaw in this new EHRC guidance.
Sex Matters@SexMattersOrg
“Finally, there are no more excuses.” 🧵@MForstater quoted across the papers on the EHRC’s updated code of practice, beginning with @Daily_Express #BuyAPaper express.co.uk/news/politics/…

@AaronBastani Whoever came up with the concept of greenbelt did a blinding job of conning everyone. Where do they think their houses were built, some magical land that just happened to be free and ready paved?
English

Bizarre seeing self-proclaimed ‘yimbys’ backing this stuff?
Cllr Rob Kenyon@RobKenyonReform
They’re trying to build 400 houses on Winstanley’s green belt. That’s 1000 extra cars on the roads & 1000 more people using infrastructure that doesn’t exist. As MP for Makerfield, I will fully support restoring Winstanley Hall, but strongly oppose the rest of this development.

@TaliEliseGM But it's better than it being cold and raining.

@60Minutes Isn't this just admitting you have no friends or close relationships?

@PolitlcsGlobal @politico Alberta can join the UK as the second country globally to impose economic sanctions on itself 😂.

@Girl_Dm_ I've never understood why a lot of people hate DS2, it's a great game. It has the best base area out of all the souls games as well, the village is actually beautiful.
English

@ThatsBoSheep Pretty much everyone who owns a home now couldn't afford to buy their home, but they'll do mental gymnastics to blame discretionary spending on trivial things being the issue 🤦
English

@LBC Private business/contractors, consultants are exactly the reason why our taxes are wasted, as they massively over charge and under perform for publicly financed projects. They are happy to rip us off to make money, but then get upset that their behaviour increases taxes.
English

@JakeCarterT @james1071 @boros10 The overwhelming majority won't. 99% of the british population would struggle to fill an ISA, so no problem there, the vast majority of the world's population, as individual investors, also can't afford to invest enough to reach the 40% tax bracket. It's a none issue for most.
English

@james1071 @boros10 I wouldn't invest for 40% tax on my returns... would anyone!?
English

These proposals will only change investor behaviour and therefore are unlikely to raise the hoped-for £12bn a year. Higher capital gains tax rates will encourage many investors to move away from owning shares directly and into collective funds. Inside a fund, managers can switch investments at the appropriate time without triggering tax for the end investor, whereas individuals managing their own portfolios would face repeated tax charges for reallocating capital. That may be good news for large fund management groups, but not for engaged private investors who back individual companies — especially smaller quoted businesses.
Dan Neidle@DanNeidle
Stunned, appalled, shocked etc to see actual tax reform from a politician. This from Wes Streeting today. A thread on why capital gains tax is broken. It's too low AND too high. & why this is a good proposal.
