@stephenkent @CIAJ_ICAJ @ca_thej @jfcuia My friend this is absolutely appalling, hate has no home anywhere. I would say the same about the Israeli approach to Gaza

What happened in Halifax is horrifying and unacceptable. Two synagogues vandalized with swastikas and hate-filled graffiti — including during a time when congregants were gathered in worship.
This is not just vandalism. It’s an escalation of antisemitism, an attack on the Jewish community, and an attack on the values we all hold as Canadians.
We must all speak out loudly and clearly: hate has no place here.
All of our neighbours deserve to feel safe, respected, and supported — always.

@stephenkent Sorry to see this. Next step have some words about atrocities that are happening in the world. Freedom of Speech is not a freedom of consequences - most actions have reactions, if you continue to propagate a particular action there is a likelihood of a reaction.

Society’s decline is laid bare by the assassination of Charlie Kirk and the disturbing celebration of violence masquerading as social justice. True tolerance demands we listen and respect even those we disagree with, defending the dignity and life of every individual, regardless of belief or background.
True justice is restorative, seeing everyone as deserving of hope… not condemned or targeted for political views.
The erosion of these principles traces to the breakdown of the nuclear family — the bedrock where values of respect, discipline, and empathy are truly learned.
Charlie Kirk’s legacy reminds us that society cannot endure without strong families at its core. When we lose that foundation, division and hatred rush in.
Let us mourn what’s lost today, recommit to the values that unite us, and defend the right of all to speak, disagree, and live in dignity.

@stephenkent couple of comments - no one should be killed for their participation in the public discourse. BUT. there are many in the US who are involved in various movements, only using words/conversations which are being detained in less than favourable conditions - have you spoke about it?
English

Charlie Kirk lost his life because someone could not tolerate his words. No one should ever be silenced with violence for speaking their mind.
Charlie lived with courage and conviction. He challenged ideas, stood firm in debate, and spoke the truth as he saw it. My hope is that his example strengthens others to live boldly, defend free speech, and never shy away from difficult conversations.
Rest in Peace, Charlie. Your voice will not be forgotten.

The evacuation advisory in Central NL has been extended to include the Rushy Pond area and access road, located 30 kilometres from the Trans-Canada Highway. All cabin owners in the area are advised to leave their cabins immediately due to a wildfire.

@KeithDunneNL This just further proves that one side of the table, across from the rest of the world, is a unstable - there is no negotiating with people of this ilk.

@VOCMOpenline For Harbour Side Park, it might have to be at the bottom, waterside of the park

@VOCMOpenline mobile sign is not the worst idea on the landmark sign ... move it around and make it something for people to find ... or give exposure to multiple parts of the city
English

@VOCMOpenline fair enough, and mine is more on the future of votes and benefit of having a party on the left - reds will usually find their way back to center/right of center
English

@DanGallway it was more a question re NDP's future not necessarily about where the Liberals are heading.
English

@VOCMOpenline Paddy although there might comments on the 'left' vote split. The New Libs have been racing towards center or right of center since Trudeau stepped down.
English

@mdpaulus @PierrePoilievre Nice, maybe that fits for 8/10 in your environment. This just in Canada is not the same as the US, and likely never will - remember Canadians did burn down the White House once
