Finished my first week in my new role with the com rehab team. Has been challenging to adjust to a new role at times, but am left feeling hopeful that it appears to be a great opportunity to rebuild my OT identity! 😌

The interview went well and I got offered the job! Had to make a really scary decision of leaving such wonderful colleagues, but my gut is telling me this will be a great opportunity to grow as an occupational therapist.. Will soon be a band 6 OT in community rehab! 😬😊

Hello fellow OTs! I have an interview next week for a band 6 role in community rehab in mental health. Any advice on how to prepare and what I could expect? 😬

@deryaocctherapy When I started my Band 5 OT role with the NHS, I had a preceptorship programme. Found it really helpful. We had numerous sessions with other newly qualified colleagues where could reflect on our experiences and support each other. Would definitely recommend it :)

Has anyone ever been newly qualified as an OT and applied for a job which includes a Preceptorship programme? I’ve just applied for a role. Apparently preceptees receive enhanced supervision, protected CPD time and peer support which sounds amazing tbh 🤷🏻‍♀️

Today marks one year since I started as a qualified Community Mental Health Occupational Therapist. It has been challenging at times but I definitely feel that I have grown so much in the past year. I am also so grateful to be a part of such a great team ☺️

Spoke with discharge team concerning my gut feeling being different to the community team recommendations however the discharge OT agreed with me which was a huge relief …note to self trust your gut feeling

Did my first B7 interview yesterday and didn’t get the job but I couldn’t have received better feedback. Very proud of myself 💫

@KeiraleighOT I’m sure some of them would be fine. I think I found that too. If you can find a place to explain that you’ll be finishing your course soon then I’m sure it’ll be make sense. Places will always want graduates. Good luck ✌🏼

so, when applying for jobs, if there's only a "yes/no" response to "do you have a HCPC registration?" - these jobs are not designed for soon to be graduates?

As challenging as I have found my role, I really appreciate the amount of support I have had, such as through Action Learning Set sessions and band 5 meetings. Feels like we have built a supportive community of NQ band 5 OTs 🫶🏼 #NQOT #KMPTProud

Covid has struck again - this time my 9 year old 😔

@SuminaOt I genuinely thought I was immune.. now I’ve got it too. I think it will definitely keep me careful 😬

Working from home as I’ve been unwell from Covid. I miss the days when days off sick used to be time off.. Now they just feel like a nuisance that put me behind with my work and make me anxious 🙄

Despite managing to test positive for Covid this morning after managing to avoid it throughout the pandemic.. had a good Action Learning Set session, reflecting and supporting each other as NQ Band 5 OTs 🤝 #CPD #NQOT
