@drneilharris I remember pre-St David’s 2 these were our top end shopping centres! Now they seem decimated. Must be another regen opportunity to shift some footfall back in the Queen Street direction? It’s particularly important given it’s the link between the Castle / Uni / Civic Centre etc.

Experiencing the melancholy feel of declining - but once bustling - shopping centres in #Cardiff city centre. Two are very nearly empty, including The Capitol. A strange experience...(or what I did when family said 'we're off shopping, see you in an hour')

🔍🌍🏡We’re currently helping @TMBC_Kent with their Call for Sites and analysis of geospatial information for their local plan using our new PlaceMaker software - read more about how it is being used to maximise brownfield potential: inyourarea.co.uk/news/council-u…

@Victoria_Payne @geordiegraeme81 @udlondon Hi Vicky, I didn't quite get to it, but I did put that we're planning on running a free course on geospatial for planners in the Summer. It became clear when I was putting the slides together that there's probably scope for it. Would be happy to work with you on this if keen?

@randcirons Not a great number is it? To be honest I looked at each of the party manifestos; you could have blind tested and not noticed much difference (except with the extreme of Plaid and independence)... No wonder so much apathy. This is reinforced by the FPTP system and ‘safe seats’.

Seems greater awareness of Devolution and the role of the Senedd during the pandemic didn't translate much to turnout with only 46.6% voting up from 46.3% in 2016. bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-…

@Stef_W The difficult tango between evidence and politics...😬 But agree ‘algorithm’ is generous, it’s a basic equation at best!

the housing “algorithm” wasn’t well designed or applied to the right part of the planning system (or actually an algorithm). But I so hoped (against experience) that it would stick and shine a spotlight on the places that have never delivered their fair share of homes. #plantech

@ViveBrexit Yeah, but the way Tony Blair explained it suggested that he actually knew his ar*e from his elbow. They weren’t just buzzwords dropped in out of context...

Fair play. Tony Blair speaks a lot of sense on the future of world politics/economics and the centrality of data and technology to progress — particularly in delivering public services. #Brexitcast
