The Star-Ledger’s wrestling coverage is one of the most elite operations in the sport. Maybe in sports in general. Five bodies full-time on a wrestling beat for one state. A rarity in wrestling as they are journalists first, not wrestling industry people. Stream stuff for free, every corner of the state is covered extensively. The team I worked with there many years ago was the strongest group I’ve worked with anywhere. All went on to very successful careers in mainstream journalism. Chris Faytok is one of the most under-appreciated people in wrestling. Shoutout to everyone involved.

@JSZ_Sports The season seemed tremendously long this year. In order to ensure it stays in Atlantic City, shorten the season, and lock in a five year deal as well.

This first Saturday in March always meant NJ wrestling championships in Atlantic City but that's no longer the case with college basketball's MAAC Tournament taking the date at Boardwalk Hall signing a 5-year deal. This year's wrestling is a week later, but will the date change in future years? The JSZ team wants to make sure that one of high school sports great spectacles NEVER leaves Atlantic City. @DanOCone Well, it takes the team, and nothing more dangerous than a guy with nothing to lose and something to prove trying to become an AA come March…. But that guy at 30-2 getting bonus points, and getting on that podium is doing a lot of the heavy lifting for the team hardware.
