@CQualtro how do I access this new 15 week benefit for surrogate parents? It says below, dated March 2023 that the new benefit would be available in a few months. It is now 15 months later. ctvnews.ca/politics/new-c… @ESDC_GC @ServiceCanada_E #cdnpoli #surrogacy #surrogateparent

NEW: NDP Leader Marit Stiles suggests Premier Doug Ford will "be in prison" at the end of this current mandate, and says the NDP would call a public inquiry into the Ford government if elected after the 2029/30 election. #onpoli

Focus Ontario: Is it a blip or a trend? Doug Ford's Progressive Conservatives are taking a tumble in the polls. We dig into one of them. Plus, how the oppo leaders are digesting the numbers. (Also: Check out the 3D legislature set!) #onpoli

#BREAKING: I've written to Prime Minister Mark Carney, urging him to intervene to stop Doug Ford's Toronto Islands land grab. While emergency rooms close, grocery prices go up, and workers lose their jobs, Doug Ford’s obsession with Toronto is costing the province. The federal government can end this today.

NEW: For the first time since 2021, the Progressive Conservatives have fallen to second place in popular opinion polling. The Liberals, who have yet to elect a leader, are now at 38% while Doug Ford’s party has fallen to 36% according to a Liaison Strategies poll. This is part of a trend in polls. (338 graphic) #onpoli

The Ontario Liberals, without a current leader, are already polling strongly enough to defeat Ford in the next election. Let's build on that.

@DavidColetto I don't think the NDP dipped down to 17% , more likely between 20-24, also liberals more likely at 30-32%

The race in Ontario has tightened dramatically: PCs 37% (▼2) Liberals 36% (▲5) That’s a statistical tie. The lead is gone and the map just got a lot more competitive. More: abacusdata.ca/ontario-pcs-an…

I'm watching the NDP's rise among 18 to 29 year olds carefully. @avilewis is offering a disruptive option that I think many young people are looking for that will compete with @PierrePoilievre's version of it.

New polling by Pallas Data shows Doug Ford's Progressive Conservatives have fallen to 37% support in public opinion. The poll also shows 79% are opposed/strongly opposed to the premier's jet. (This poll was done for The Trillium) #onpoli

#BREAKING: Democracy dies in darkness. Doug Ford just passed a law to hide his phone records and 40 years of public records. Honest governments don't change the law to protect them from the truth. As Premier, I will roll back these changes and restore transparency, trust, and faith in our democracy.
Marit Stiles@MaritStiles

BREAKING: The Ford government just voted to fast-track a law that would permanently shield Doug Ford’s phone records from the public, keeping you in the dark about how your tax dollars are being used. Watch this video where I break it down.

The opposition says it's a sign the government knows its FOI changes are "unpopular" and underscores the idea that Premier Doug Ford is racing to hide the records on his personal cell phone after a years-long transparency battle with Global News.

Ontario's FOI system could be dramatically altered once the Ford government passes the budget this week (as early as today) But documents already show how bad the system already is. #onpoli

Tonight, more than 10,000 emails were sent through ReleaseDougsTexts.ca, asking every MPP to do the right thing and stop the FOI changes. Debate has now ended. The final vote is expected tomorrow after Question Period. The Official Opposition will keep fighting this every step of the way – because the good people of Ontario deserve a government that has nothing to hide.
Marit Stiles@MaritStiles

#BREAKING: The Ford government just scheduled late-night sittings – until midnight – to ram through FOI changes. Just when you thought this government couldn’t get any worse, they’re now scheduling late night sittings to quietly change the rules, hoping to keep Ontarians in the dark.

Doug Ford uses his phone for government business. The courts ordered him to release his phone records – so now he’s changing the law so he never has to. What is Doug Ford hiding?

An NDP Freedom of Information (FOI) request revealed that the Ford government spent $1,737,051.59 (pre-tax) on the Ontario Place ads between January 1 through November 18, last year. The government had refused to disclose the amount when asked by Global News last November.
