Congratulations to my esteemed colleague @BSpurlOT_Acute_ 👏🏼
Just got his promotion to Senior OT within Acute Services. Enjoy your new responsibility and success! Throwback photo to PMA training in the good old days, see you soon! 🤝 🥇

Can we all agree on something?
If you're a politician getting paid over £84,000 plus expenses, for mainly office work...
You don't get to tell nurses on less than £30,000 that they're being paid enough for 12-hour shifts keeping people alive.

Very sad the hear the passing of terry hall. The sound of his distinct vocals echoed through my youth and he was in one of the bands that got me into ska music. Gone too soon. RIP #terryhallrip

@KateBurkeNHS @HEWilliamsBooks @alisonleary1 I would argue that therapy / other AHP’s are “just as” (if not more transferable) than nursing to management/other non clinical roles.. Nurses are integral and MASSIVELY important but are sometimes very dismissive of the skillset of other professionals.
English

@KateBurkeNHS @alisonleary1 I think it is very dependent on the trust, I know of MANY nurses that go from band 5-6 after one year practice.
In other trusts I know that AHP’s have similar experiences.. i do not know about “automatic” progression though, always gone through appraisal/dev plan etc..

@HannahKayOT @Keirwales I was really looking forward to attending this talk, is there a recording or another way we can learn this information?

We wondered if there was much of an appetite for OTs to think about #TheDarkSideofOccupation it would seem so. 😮

@annduckworth @Keirwales @HannahtheOT @LaughingOT @HollytheOT @MOHOspark I have not had this comment but I know it is really common amongst female OT’s, especially on wards!
I can see a clear link between the pragmatic, nurturing and caring nature of both mothers and OT’s.
Shame I am a 24 year old male 🤣

I’d be really interested to hear if you have had similar or what your response to this might be, if you have time and energy

Over the past few months I have had my role at work described as “being a mum” both in managing staff and when providing OT input and it’s made me think. What would your reaction be? #OTTalk #OccupationalTherapy

@AP_Occupational @theletterzed Florence and the machine by any chance Alex?

@mane3sha Despite my inevitable dependence on my phone, whenever it breaks (or I turn it off), it is like the shackles have been removed 🤩

@ot_abbie Congratulations on your graduation, welcome to the world of OT !
English

@Alex_The_OT Absolutely welcome! It is nice to see your progression, adult acute is a really interesting area! & Yes thanks, the transition to community has been great thus far, currently on intensive DBT training for PD pathway.

@JennieRed14 In my interview there were few key things, the escalation process, handling duty calls, types of interventions, patient demographic and expected conditions - best of luck hope you get it 🤞🏼👍🏼
