Against my better judgment, I wrote a piece on the culture wars. TLDR: Taking a zoomed out, historical view - 'woke' wars are standard operating procedure for a society thats constantly changing. Weirdly, that's quite reassuring.

Here's my pitch: - School leavers offered a paid year in a citizen rapid response force. - Means boots on the ground in disaster and gives the next generation a financial, life skills, confidence, purpose and social cohesion boost. - Army and NGO (e.g. Outward Bound) led.

Today's win is knowing that we've helped 10,000 Kiwis reconnect with farming. For 2,000 of them - it was their first-time in the paddock, field or woolshed. Let's go again.
