SAPS is seeking the assistance of the public to identify the person depicted in the sketches following the discovery of human skeletal remains. On Wednesday, 13 August 2025 Steenberg WC police received a complaint about skeletal remains that were found at 14th Avenue Rondevlei, Lavender Hill at around 15:00. According to reports, children were playing with a ball and kicking it over a school fence. The children made the discovery when they collected the ball on the other side of the school fence. Police were immediately alerted. When they arrived at the crime scene, members recovered the skeletal remains with only white and yellow Adidas sneakers. The missing shoe is not linked to any recent missing person’s cases. Police believe could be that of an adult male estimated to be between 35 and 46 years old that was found at the above-mentioned location. Anyone with information that might help with the investigation is kindly requested to contact the investigating officer Detective Warrant Officer Sampson on 021 702 900/22 or CrimeStop on 08600 10111.
