It's not just twitter. Most Americans look down on Californians. They are too self righteous to realize, they are the only people that think highly of themselves. Most of their complaints about the country are mostly problems they created for themselves in their state, and they are too dumb to realize it. Worse yet, they are fleeing the state they ruined and go to other states where they start ruining it the same way.

@chick3T Well that is actually right... The people of California and New York don't respect conservatives anywhere. And the South is racist in that they don't like Indians and Muslims, and African people are starting to be disliked again too. I hear the Japanese feel the same.

the other night husband and i were watching a documentary about the yeti where they were doing DNA analysis of samples of supposed yeti fur, and every one of them came back as bears. anyway, the next night we watched a thing about some pig man who is supposed to live in Vermont. people said it had claws and a pig nose but walked upright like a man. now, i happen to know that sideshows used to shave bears and present them as pig men. so every piece of evidence they gave of this monster sounds to me like a bear with mange. so now the running joke in our house is that everything is bears. Aliens? Bears. Loch Ness monster? bear. every cryptozoological mystery is just a very crafty bear. bears. they’re everywhere. be wary. anyone or anything could be a bear.

1) Because modern Windows has lost its way 2) Because Windows is like pizza. When it's good, it's great. When it's bad, it's still better than nothing at all. On the desktop, it's 90% about the top-tier Windows applications. For now, the only practical alternative is MacOS, and you'll still need a Windows box some days. Unless and until the apps are available on Linux, it remains a great back-end system.

@VishakhRanotra Couple of things nobody is mentioning is there might be some heat build up that the aluminum dissipates better. Also that aluminum might be a 'mechanical fuse' that is easier or less costly to replace than the next strongest part in the system.

Mechanical engineers on my TL, I have a question. During periodic maintenance of one of our CNC wire forming machines, there’s a belt driven mechanism and we noticed that the pulley is made up of aluminium instead of something stronger, like steel. We are seeing considerable wear on the pulley now. Could someone shed some light as to why they chose aluminium? It’s the smaller one, not the big one.
