We are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Dania Valvi as Vice Chair for Research and Education in the Department of Public Health and Director of Graduate Education in Public Health at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Valvi brings extensive expertise in environmental epidemiology, exposomics, metabolic disease, and maternal and child health. Since joining Mount Sinai in 2019, she has played a critical role in building interdisciplinary research teams and leading the MS in Epidemiology program. Her work has been widely recognized, with over 100 peer-reviewed publications and more than 34,000 citations. In this newly established leadership role, Dr. Valvi will guide the advancement and modernization of public health education and research initiatives—preparing the next generation of public health professionals to meet evolving health challenges with innovation and impact.
