I do agree though I don’t think they will be the favorites to start the season next year but I wouldn’t bet against them making it back to the finals (again assuming Hali is at least 85%)

@Fanalysts_FR @Three_Cone As you said earlier they were on a 61 win pace after 1/1 last year. Arguably they upgraded at center, and if they get a top 4 pick they upgraded from Mathurin. And if his achilles holds they had a great chance to win the title last year as a 4 seed

@Daniel88869867 @Three_Cone I hear you, but it's a lot to ask to win 30 more games because one guy is slotted back in. A lot of regular season wins is health, but also there hasn't been a champion who wasn't a top 3 seed in their own conference in 30+ years.

@Fanalysts_FR @Three_Cone Offense struggled because they lost their engine. With Hali: top-10 ORTG; without him: bottom-3. If he's ~85%, they’re elite again. Regular season wins aren’t the best metric IMO. Pacers were a 4 and 6 seed and still made back-to-back ECFs

@Three_Cone I think we’re underestimating what the Pacers were. The Pacers were the 4 seed after posting a 61 win pace since since January 1st while coming off a conference finals run the year prior.
The Hornets are good for the 1st time this year.
